Job Description

We are currently looking for a Support Pedagogue for a temporary position at Egnahems BmSS in Landala until the turn of the year, with good prospects for extension. This is a service housing unit with 6 tenants. The target group includes individuals with intellectual disabilities, Down syndrome, psychiatric conditions, and autism. Our tenants have varying care needs. We utilize work methods such as LAB (Low-Affective Interaction), Clarifying Pedagogy, MI-Interviews (Motivational Interviewing), Sign Support, and AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication).

As a Support Pedagogue, you have overall responsibility for the pedagogical work within the operation. Your role is to gather and disseminate knowledge about working methods and approaches, ensuring they are used and developed effectively. Together with the work group, you create, implement, and follow up on routines, action plans, and activity descriptions. In this way, we all become better at understanding needs and providing the right support, enabling more people to live a good and independent life like everyone else.

As a Support Pedagogue, you ensure that social documentation and implementation plans are created, further developed, and followed in accordance with laws and guidelines. You act as a support and guide for each individual employee, the work group, and you also provide support to the manager. You supervise the work group based on the operation's needs and methods. Together with your colleagues, you play a central role in the operation's quality development and systematic improvement work. You are part of a network with other pedagogues and collaborate with relatives, guardians, and other key persons to ensure the tenant receives good care, support, and service.

Housing with special support offers support around the clock. We base our work on the tenants' needs and adjust working hours accordingly. Working hours include day, evening, and weekend shifts as needed. We use Time Care Planning for operation-adapted and influenceable schedules.

We look forward to receiving your application!

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a degree from the Care and Nursing Programme, the Support Assistant Programme, or the Child and Leisure Programme with a focus on social and pedagogical work. The educational requirement is also met if you have a specialization within the disability field comprising at least 200 YH credits, 120 university credits, or 60 university credits combined with two years of work experience with people with disabilities. The courses should be within behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) care or other education that the employer deems equivalent.

Communication is an important part of the job, meaning you need to have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. If you do not meet the qualification requirements in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a Second Language 1, you may be offered to take a language test via the test provider Educateit.

Experience working as a Support Pedagogue is meritorious.

We also appreciate if you have knowledge and experience in the following methods:

  • LAB (Low-Affective Interaction)
  • AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication)
  • Clarifying Pedagogy
  • Sign Support and IBIC (Individual Needs in Focus).

You show respect and consideration for those you meet in your professional role. You have the ability to explain problems and information to different recipients and from different perspectives while encouraging dialogue, participation, and engagement. You have the ability to work together with others and you plan activities and projects well in advance to ensure the work is completed and results are followed up.

Conditions

Selection and interviews may begin during the application period.

In this recruitment process, you will answer a number of questions where you describe your knowledge in the field instead of sending a personal letter. Attach your degree certificate and grades under "Other Files".
