About the Job

We are looking for a teaching assistant who, as needed and upon agreement, will assist the course coordinator for course TMMS21 (Mechatronics) with course development and teaching in laboratory sessions focusing on electronics and microcontrollers.

About You

To be employed as a teaching assistant, you must be admitted to a higher education program at either undergraduate or advanced level.

The teaching assistant position is directly linked to the basic courses that the department is responsible for. The position is also linked to the research projects conducted at the department. The tasks are varied and may arise with short notice, requiring flexibility and availability at the university. You should also be responsible, detail-oriented, service-minded, possess pedagogical skills, and be interested in the respective subject areas.

Qualifications that would be considered an advantage include having taken the course TMMS21, or an equivalent course at another university. Good academic results in mechatronics, as well as knowledge in electronics, programming, CAD, and 3D printing, are also advantageous.

Your Workplace

You will work at the Division of Fluid and Mechatronic Systems, which is part of the Department of Science and Technology within the Faculty of Science and Engineering. The division has an undergraduate teaching mission that includes teaching for the Civil Engineering program in Mechanical Engineering (300 ECTS credits), as well as the Master's programs in Mechanical Engineering (120 ECTS credits) and Aeronautical Engineering (120 ECTS credits).

About the Employment

The scope of the tasks and the start date will be determined by agreement.

A teaching assistant position is regulated in Chapter 5 of the Higher Education Ordinance. Those employed as teaching assistants may work within teaching, administration, or participate in research or artistic development work. A teaching assistant position may correspond to a maximum of 50% of full-time employment.

Salary and Benefits

Salary according to LiU's central agreement on teaching assistant salaries. The employment is hourly paid.
