Do you see the leisure-time center (fritidshem) as the heart of the school – where everyday life becomes safe, fun, and educational? Do you thrive on creating meaningful afternoons for students? Then you might be our new Teacher in Leisure-Time Center!
Who are we?
Oxelbergsskolan is a unified F-6 school located in the Oxelbergen district, just a stone's throw from the city center but surrounded by nature and green areas.
Our team consists of approximately 24 colleagues who support each other, share ideas, and help one another during busy times. We focus on language development, sustainability, learning, and care – for both our approx. 190 students and for each other. Here, you will find a work environment where collaboration, humor, and a flat hierarchy are natural parts of daily life.
Your responsibilities
As a Teacher in Leisure-Time Center with us, you help create a safe, creative, and developmental environment for students during both school hours and leisure time. Together with colleagues, you plan, implement, and follow up on pedagogical activities, serving as a key link between the school day and leisure-time activities.
Your main tasks include:
- Planning and leading meaningful leisure-time activities focused on student learning, safety, and participation.
- Working closely with class teachers and student health services to create a holistic approach for each student.
- Supporting students who need extra assistance within the small student group.
- Contributing to language-developing methods and supporting students in both social and academic development.
- Actively working with conflict resolution, value-based work, and inclusion within the student group.
- Participating in development projects for the leisure-time center, such as working methods, structure, and student influence.
- Utilizing any qualifications in music or other aesthetic subjects to add extra value to the activities.
Who are you?
You are a qualified Teacher in Leisure-Time Center with a teaching license and eligibility to teach in leisure-time centers. If you also have qualifications in music or other aesthetic subjects, we are particularly interested. You enjoy working with children, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and maintain a calm, secure, and clear approach.
We would like you to:
- Have at least 1–2 years of experience in pedagogical work, preferably in leisure-time centers or schools.
- Be well-versed in the Swedish National Agency for Education's steering documents and able to apply them in the daily life of the leisure-time center.
- Have good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written, allowing you to communicate confidently with children, colleagues, and guardians.
- Have experience with language-developing methods and preferably work with children with ADHD/ASD (NPF).
- Be confident in conflict resolution and value-based work, and comfortable setting boundaries while building relationships.
- Be curious, solution-focused, and enjoy collaboration, but also capable of taking initiative and driving your work forward.
With us, you will receive support from experienced colleagues, a structured introduction to the operations, and excellent opportunities for both professional and personal development.
We look forward to receiving your application!
