About the position

We are looking for a teacher who is certified in art subjects for the Art and Design focus of the Aesthetic Programme, preferably in combination with a role as a special needs teacher or with another upper secondary subject, at Rudbecksgymnasiet in Tidaholm Municipality.

The position includes mentorship, which means very close work with students, colleagues, and guardians. It may also involve teaching art at the Introductory Programme.

About the workplace

Rudbecksgymnasiet is the municipality's only upper secondary school. We offer university-preparatory and vocational programmes, introductory programmes, special classes within AST (Individual Programme with Special Educational Needs), and a youth residence connected to the special classes. Rudbecksgymnasiet is located in central Tidaholm, on the edge of the Tidan river. We have buildings on Vulcanön and on Smedjegatan, situated amidst lush green areas.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a teaching certificate with eligibility in the previously mentioned programme-specific subjects on the aesthetic programme with a focus on image and design, or equivalent competence. Areas we see you mastering include, among others, photography, image theory, cultural history, and digital techniques, including Adobe Suite.

We would appreciate it if you also have a special needs teacher education to best support the school's students, or if you are a certified art teacher in combination with another upper secondary teaching subject.

On the aesthetic programme, we also have special classes for students with high-functioning autism, so experience and/or education within the autism spectrum area is meritorious.

We expect you to create a developmental study environment for students together with your colleagues, have a good ability to build trusting relationships, and to prioritize student participation and influence.

Through a positive view of development and change work, you dare to test different solutions with the students in focus. Of course, you manage to lead the work in the classroom in a respectful manner towards your students.

Great importance will be attached to personal competencies.
