NAISS, the National Academic Infrastructure for Supercomputing in Sweden, provides large-scale computing resources, storage, and data services for academic users. NAISS is a center of excellence hosted by Linköping University and has 12 partner universities across Sweden.
We are now looking for a Controller with an interest in management issues and operational control
About the job
Your main tasks will include budgeting, budget monitoring, and annual accounts, as well as preparing financial reports, forecasts, analyses, reviewing investment cases, and developing routines and systems. You are also expected to handle accounting and closing processes when needed. We work extensively in project formats, and you will be involved in developing the project structure at NAISS and routines for project planning and monitoring. A key part of the role is to communicate the results of your work within NAISS.
As a Controller, you are a resource for the NAISS management team, consisting of the Director, Deputy Director, and Department Head. You will join the management group and be expected to provide support and input within your area of expertise to both the management and the board. At the NAISS board, you will also serve as the spokesperson on financial matters.
About you
We are looking for someone who has:
- a degree in economics or equivalent higher education
- at least 5 years of experience in qualified financial work
- experience working with national infrastructures requiring collaboration with other universities on financial matters
- experience handling financial matters in collaboration with EU representatives
- strong computer skills with good user competence in an accounting system such as Raindance or Agresso, including MS Word and MS Excel
- good proficiency in oral and written communication in both Swedish and English
The following qualifications are meritorious:
- experience in project management
- experience in accounting for EU projects
You should have strong analytical skills, as well as high pedagogical and communicative abilities. You should also be skilled in leadership. You must be proactive, driven, and a good team player. You should have a service-oriented attitude and good collaboration skills. Since several of our employees are English-speaking, it is important that you can communicate easily in English in both small and large groups.
Your workplace
You will work at NAISS, which currently consists of 54 people, in close collaboration with your colleagues in the administrative unit. You will chair the finance group, which consists of two accountants and two administrators working part-time on financial matters. Your direct manager will be the NAISS Department Head, who is also the head of the administrative unit.

About the employment
Permanent position, full-time (100%).
The position is that of a Controller.
Start date: ASAP or as agreed.
The position may be subject to a security classification. If so, a security check with register control will be conducted before an employment decision is made.
