We are now expanding the number of students at Uppsala Adapted Upper Secondary School (Uppsala AG) and are looking for an engaged PE teacher! Uppsala AG consists of two school units: Fyris and Jälla. The school has a total of approximately 170 students and 100 employees. This autumn, we will start new classes within the Individual Programme. The current need is at Fyris AG Individual Programme, where you will use the joy of movement to develop our students' abilities.

Description of Duties

As a PE teacher on the Individual Programme, you have pedagogical responsibility for the planning, implementation, and assessment of teaching in the subject area of Physical Education and Health. You meet students with intellectual disabilities as well as various forms of functional variations and adapt lessons so that everyone can participate, develop, and experience the joy of movement.

The role requires significant pedagogical adaptation to create a safe, predictable, and enjoyable environment based on each student's unique physical and cognitive prerequisites. Teaching takes place in close collaboration with several student assistants linked to the class you teach. You will have access to motor skill rooms and sports halls but will also conduct teaching in other environments.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a teaching license with eligibility to teach Physical Education and Health. A special needs teacher education with a focus on Intellectual Disability (IF) is an advantage. Experience working with students with intellectual disabilities combined with ADHD/Autism (NPF) or other functional variations is also considered an advantage. In your role, you lead, motivate, and provide others with the authority required to effectively reach common goals. You coordinate groups and become a natural reference point for others, while creating engagement and participation within the work group.

Uppsala Municipality applies individual and differentiated salary setting according to the current collective agreement.

In your application, you must state your citizenship. Employment can only take place after verification of the work permit, as required by the Aliens Ordinance.
