The Social Care Administration in Borås Municipality is responsible for the municipality's disability services, social psychiatry, and health and medical care interventions for these target groups. With approximately 1,000 employees and 45 managers, we continuously work to improve the quality of our services for those we exist to support.

We are looking for you who want to work to make life easier for people in their daily routines. This is an important mission with the goal of supporting and empowering individuals to lead a meaningful and independent life.

Companion services are an intervention for those with disabilities who need support to participate in society.

A companion supports by accompanying individuals to and from activities they can manage on their own. For example, visiting friends, going for a walk, running errands, or participating in cultural activities.

Companion services aim to provide increased opportunities for contact with others and participation in society on equal terms with everyone else. As a companion, you will arrive at the person's home or another meeting place at the agreed time and accompany them to and from their activity.

For this assignment, we are looking for a companion who knows Swedish Sign Language to support a 20-year-old young man with a mild intellectual disability. The assignment includes planning and carrying out various activities, such as visits to the Gothenburg Association of the Deaf, as well as accompanying him on bus trips.

We are looking for someone who is available to work approximately 5 hours per week during the summer holidays. The number of hours may vary depending on planned activities and needs. It is also desirable that you can work to the same extent during other holiday periods throughout the year.

You should have a strong commitment and interest in other people and a desire to build a relationship that lasts over time. No specific education is required, but we prefer candidates who have experience with intellectual disabilities. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
