What does the position entail?

I am a 9-year-old boy with motor and intellectual disabilities living with my family in a villa just north of Helsingborg. I am now looking to expand my assistance group and am therefore seeking an assistant who is genuinely interested in working with children and who has a respectful, positive, and warm attitude.

I need help with most aspects of my daily life as my care needs involve both physical and medical aspects. I have epilepsy and respiratory issues, so it is important to stay vigilant and be able to remain calm in stressful situations that may arise in connection with this. I receive nutrition via a button/PEG in my stomach.

It is important that you are cheerful and take initiative so that I have a fun and meaningful daily life with people I can rely on. As I am determined and communicate in my own way, interaction, responsiveness, and continuity are important. This position includes a waking night shift where supervision is crucial because I can experience serious epileptic seizures. I need peace and quiet when I sleep, but also someone who can help me with monitoring, turning, medication, and oxygen if needed.

It does not matter if you are male or female, nor your age, but experience working with children, personal assistance, nursing, or similar is appreciated. However, personal suitability is of greatest importance. You must be a non-smoker and speak and understand Swedish without difficulty.

We are looking for someone who can work as a temporary substitute for my assistance group but also have a few fixed shifts per month. The position is approximately 20% with the possibility of a higher percentage. The fixed shifts are scheduled for afternoons/evenings and waking nights. Flexibility is an advantage, as is the willingness to help each other within the group. For us, it is about giving and taking! This position is suitable for you who work in another job but wish to increase your employment level, or for you who are studying and have the opportunity to work evenings/nights.
