The Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) Care Unit is a center for children and adults with medical and surgical conditions in the ENT region. It is part of the Specialized Surgery area at Skåne University Hospital (Sus) in Lund and Malmö. We have regional responsibility and cover everything from basic healthcare to highly specialized care. Together with Lund University and Malmö University, the ENT unit provides education for doctors, speech therapists, and audiologists.

We are a large group of medical secretaries and administrators who, with pride and engagement, work daily to provide the best possible administrative support for patients and the organization as a whole. Our work is team-based, with each team specializing in a specific area. We now have the opportunity to welcome a medical secretary to a combined role as an Operations Coordinator. RESPONSIBILITIES

The position involves a split role, with half-time dedicated to standard duties as a medical secretary and half-time as an Operations Coordinator. Every other week, you will be placed in a team of medical secretaries, sharing responsibility for team tasks such as dictation, booking, quality assurance, referral, and mail handling.

Every other week, your placement is as an Operations Coordinator, where you have overall responsibility for planning the surgical program. This includes calling patients, ensuring everything is ready for surgery, and managing quality assurance for the surgical waiting list. The work is interdisciplinary and involves daily close dialogue with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and staff on the surgical wards. It is a varied role where changes to the schedule often occur and need to be handled with short notice.

QUALIFICATIONS

We welcome applicants who have completed an approved education in Health and Social Care Administration (80 p KY or 400 p YH), or a medical secretary education, or other education deemed relevant by the employer. You must have good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written. Experience with Melior and Pasis is required. Proficiency in Excel, Orbit, and Qlikview is considered an advantage, as is previous experience working as an Operations Coordinator.

Essential for the role is good teamwork skills, combined with the ability to work independently and structure your work. You are flexible, engaged, have a strong service orientation, and the ability to take responsibility. The tasks require an interest in how healthcare is structured and how your own operations are planned and followed up. We work with the patient in focus, and as an Operations Coordinator, you will have daily contact with patients waiting for or being called for surgery, making your communication skills vital. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
