NTI Gymnasiet has schools across Sweden, focusing on technology, science, and innovation. The digitalization of society creates both new opportunities and challenges across all industries. Our mission is to provide our students, regardless of their program, with cutting-edge digital skills and knowledge of new technologies already during upper secondary school. We create environments, methods, forums, and collaborations that develop an understanding of the changing world we live in. Read more about our schools at www.ntigymnasiet.se.
What we offer you
NTI Stockholm Odenplan and NTI Science Gymnasium are two schools co-located in the heart of central Stockholm. Together, we offer four upper secondary programs: ES (Social Sciences), TE (Technology), NA (Natural Sciences), and EE (Electrical and Energy Engineering), as well as the Upper Secondary Engineering program (TE4) in Information Technology. In total, we are a school for approximately 610 students and 35 employees. We have two different buildings; the main building is located at Crafoordsväg 12, while the Electrical and Energy students are at our vocational campus at Odenplan, Upplandsgatan 49.
Your role
Your role as a mentor is to maintain a holistic perspective on the student's schooling and be responsible for documentation regarding the student, such as pedagogical assessments, action plans, attendance, and absences. You handle all contact with guardians and participate in EHT (Individual Study Plans) with the student as the focus. It is important that you are driven by structure and collaborate well with teachers, other mentors, and other school staff. You need to be able to collaborate with both social services and the police and not be afraid to have difficult conversations with students and student groups.
Your daily routine includes participating in lessons, calling guardians, leading parent meetings and development talks, and being responsible for the content during the class mentorship periods. You work daily with student absence reporting, which requires work at both the individual and group levels. The work is very varied; no day is like the other. You share responsibility for the school's overall student activities, such as student celebrations.
Your position includes mentorship for year three students in the Electrical and Energy Program, Natural Sciences Program, and Technology Program at NTI Science Gymnasium (total of 4 classes). We prefer that you work Monday–Thursday, 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM.
Your profile
We are looking for someone who loves school and teenagers and wants to work with the school's mission – to nurture good citizens and ensure that our young adults graduate with a high school diploma and are ready for adult life after three years with us. You are engaged and experienced in working with schools, teenagers, and young adults. You have either a teacher's degree or a social worker's degree. In your job as a mentor, there are many students to keep track of, so you need to be organized, systematic, and able to quickly adapt and solve problems as they arise. You are solution-focused, curious, positive, capable of handling difficult conversations, and understand the importance of good documentation.
The position is a part-time employment with a scope of 60%, starting as soon as possible.
