Support Staff with Mentoring Role – Uppsala Enskilda Skola
STIFTELSEN LITEN LÄRUppsala län, Uppsala
Previous experience is desired
Uppsala Enskilda Skola is an independent, foundation-run primary school offering education from preschool class to year 5. This means any profit is reinvested directly into the school's operations. We have approximately 255 students and 34 employees.
The school has two parallel classes from preschool class to year 3, and one parallel class in years 4 and 5. In each class, a class teacher works together with at least one support staff member. The after-school program is an important part of our school, with many students participating daily.
We place great emphasis on a relational approach and work with low-affective responses. Here, you will meet a dedicated team with high expectations for both students and colleagues, working together to create a safe, structured, and accessible learning environment.
We are now looking for a support staff member with mentoring responsibilities during school days and in the after-school program.
Your Responsibilities
The position combines student-facing work in the classroom and after-school program with mentoring and development work within the organization.
Key responsibilities include:
- providing targeted support to students in need of structure and social support
- working preventively to ensure safety, calm, and functional social interaction
- supporting students during transitions, breaks, and group situations
- supporting work teams in everyday student situations
- introducing and supporting new support staff and substitute teachers
- contributing to a shared understanding of interactions, structure, and student support
- working with team leaders to develop accessible and neurodiversity-affirming (NPF-safe) after-school environments
The role also involves collaboration with the student health team and school leadership regarding preventive work and learning environments.
Who are you?
We are looking for someone who:
- has experience working with children in schools and/or after-school programs
- is confident, relationship-building, and solution-focused
- has a strong ability to create structure and calm
- works with a low-affective approach and a relational mindset
- thrives in collaboration and enjoys supporting colleagues
- has experience working with students with neurodevelopmental differences (NPF) and in mentoring or introductory roles
We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
What do we offer?
Here, you will:
- work in a close-knit and collaborative environment
- be a key part of the work regarding safety and accessible learning environments
- have the opportunity to combine student-facing work with development and mentoring responsibilities
- work with dedicated colleagues and a clear focus on relationships and interactions
This is a full-time vacation position starting as agreed prior to the 2026/2027 school year.
Are you the person we are looking for? Please send your CV and cover letter directly to [email protected]
We will conduct ongoing interviews, and the position may be filled before the application deadline.
