Job Description
We are taking a new approach at Morängatan – would you like to be part of our renewal and contribute to a positive and developmental daily life for our residents?
We are now looking for four support assistants who want to work in an operation where we together develop working methods, attitudes, and approaches to create the best possible support for the people living with us.
Morängatan is a housing with special service for adults with neuropsychiatric diagnoses and physical disabilities. Ten residents live here, all with individual needs, interests, and conditions. By working based on implementation plans, you ensure that each resident's needs are in focus and that the support is designed in a respectful and professional manner.
In your work, you motivate the residents in their daily lives, both inside and outside the home. This can involve encouraging social activities, supporting contacts outside the residence, or creating conditions for a rewarding leisure time based on the resident's interests. You also provide support with daily tasks such as personal hygiene, laundry, cleaning, and cooking.
You collaborate with guardians, social secretaries, healthcare, and relatives, and are part of a team where attitude, method development, and a low-arousal approach are a natural part of everyday life. The work also includes social documentation, medication management, and insulin administration according to delegation. The role may occasionally involve working alone, which makes it important that you feel confident with the target group and secure in your professional attitude.
The residence offers support around the clock, and working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, and every other weekend. We use Time Care Planning for operation-adapted schedules.
With us, you will have a varied and meaningful job where you make a real difference – every day.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have a degree from the Care and Nursing program, the Support Assistant program, or the Child and Leisure program with a focus on social or pedagogical work. The educational requirement is also met if you have a post-secondary specialization within the disability field comprising at least 200 YH credits, 120 higher education credits, or a combination thereof equivalent to at least four terms of full-time studies. Alternatively, 60 higher education credits and at least two years of experience working with support and services for people with disabilities. The education should have relevant credits in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) nursing or other education that the employer deems equivalent.
Communication is an important part of the work, which requires that you have passed Swedish 1 or Swedish as a Second Language 1. Those who do not meet the qualification requirements may be offered to take a language test through the test provider Educateit.
You have documented experience of working within LSS (Social Services Act for Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments) and social documentation. You have experience working with people with autism, intellectual, and physical disabilities. It is meritorious if you have knowledge and experience of LAB (Low Arousal Approach) and AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication).
You are calm and secure in pressured and difficult situations. You can balance the demands placed on you and can make well-founded decisions despite time pressure. You work well with others by listening, showing interest, and respect. You are clear in your professional role and act professionally in situations where others question you or make unreasonable demands. You are attentive and open to understanding other people's needs, feelings, and opinions. You are receptive to what others say or express and show respect, consideration, and care in your attitude.
Assessment of personal competencies is done through competency-based interviews and reference checks according to routine.
We warmly welcome your application!
