Welcome to one of Sweden's most important jobs in Härryda Municipality, located midway between Gothenburg and Borås, with Landvetter Airport nearby.

Hindås School is centrally located, surrounded by lakes and forests, with good transport links to both Borås and Gothenburg. Bus and train stations are close to the school. We have three parallel streams in tracks linked to their own leisure centers. The school has approximately 200 students and about 30 staff members working together for the students' learning and development.

Our goal is to become Sweden's best school. As part of this work, we use the PALS method at Hindås School, an evidence-based approach to promote safety and study environment. We are now in our sixth year of this working method, which has become second nature to everyone working here.

Your Role

At Hindås School, we focus on the student's learning throughout the day. As an employee, you are a vital cog in our machinery, and a well-functioning collaboration with all colleagues is crucial.

Every week, the school's student health team meets, consisting of the principal, special needs educator, special teacher, counselor, school nurse, and school psychologist. In this team, we work together to create the best conditions for our teachers and students, at the organizational, group, and individual levels.

Your main responsibilities include:

• Responsibility for preventive safety-promoting work according to our annual calendar, where you lead various activities in each grade (e.g., "Stop My Body", "Brag Smartly", etc.).
• Responsibility for follow-up and evaluation of the school's plan against discrimination and harassment.
• Close collaboration with the principal regarding reports of suspected harassment, as well as follow-up and analysis of these cases.
• Acting as a social link between the school, home, and other societal interventions.
• Leading attendance work at the school through continuous follow-ups and analyses together with staff and student health services.
• Participation in the school's PALS team.

As a counselor in Härryda Municipality, you are part of a network of school counselors, with central student health services acting as the convenor.

Requirements for the Position

You, the applicant:

• Have a university degree in social work or another education deemed equivalent by the employer.
• Have good collaboration skills and create good relationships and cooperation with students, colleagues, management, guardians, and external actors.
• Can analyze collective support needs and serve as a strategic support for the principal in planning and follow-up of the school's support organization.
• Are curious, capable of thinking outside the box, but also receptive to others' ideas and thoughts.
• Inspire and engage, are mission-driven, work goal-oriented, and have good prioritization skills.
• Want to contribute to an accessible learning environment and have a strong interest and willingness to develop the operations.

Great emphasis will be placed on education, experience, and personal qualities.

To obtain employment, an extract from the Police Register must be presented. An extract from the suspicion register may also be required depending on the position.
