School Nurse

Our current school nurse will be pursuing further education after the summer, and we are looking for her replacement. OUR SCHOOL:

Vasalundsskolan is an independent primary school (grades F-9) with approximately 400 students, located in the green area of Vasatorp, with the Lundsbäck allotment area as its nearest neighbor. It is easy to get to the school, either by car or by public transport.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The role of school nurse includes working with the basic program within the framework of EMI (Efforts to Prevent Social Exclusion), as well as proactively working with health-promoting and preventive student health care. Your task is to practically monitor the students' health and development, and within the student health team, provide medical expertise in the pedagogical work to create the most positive learning environment possible for the students. Your efforts contribute to the students' better achievement of goals.

Together with the school leadership, teachers, and other members of the student health team, you work analytically and proactively in student health care. The work is largely independent, and you have many external contacts with other institutions and organizations. It is a great advantage if you have your own network that you can turn to for advice and support.

QUALIFICATIONS:

You are a licensed nurse with further education in primary healthcare. You have a school nurse or pediatric nursing degree, as well as professional experience. As a person, you are sensitive, creative, and empathetic. You are a good communicator and have the ability to work independently and flexibly.

You may also be a nurse considering further education to become a school nurse but who has experience working with student health care in a school setting.

You will play a central role in the overall student health care, collaborating with the school counselor, school doctor, and school psychologist, as well as the principal and educators in the school's well-established student health team. We would appreciate it if you have experience working in a multicultural environment.

Good computer skills and experience working with a web-based documentation system to keep records quickly and securely are required. It is a great advantage if you have worked with Prorenata, which is the system we use.

As a person, you are solution-focused, unpretentious, and flexible. Your working style is result- and development-oriented. Furthermore, you build sustainable relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues.

We would like you to contribute with commitment, creativity, and curiosity. You meet every student with respect and sensitivity. You must have very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.

The position is part-time, but we are open to different alternatives. The role can vary. It can also be an hourly position where you come in as needed, with the possibility of varying working hours depending on the workload.

The start date is at the beginning of the autumn term 2027 or by agreement.
