What you will do

As a dance instructor, you lead dance courses for groups in Skövde, during the day, in the evenings, and on weekends, depending on demand. You plan and conduct lessons where participants develop step by step in a safe and encouraging environment. The role suits you if you like standing in front of a group, creating energy in the room, and seeing others grow.

• Plan, structure, and conduct dance lessons based on level and target group
• Create choreographies or dance exercises that suit the group's level and interests
• Coach and motivate participants so that everyone feels seen and included
• Contribute to a good atmosphere and a safe, welcoming learning environment
• Have dialogue with Medborgarskolan staff regarding schedule, premises, and course setup
• Participate in relevant meetings, introductions, or competence development initiatives

Who we are looking for

We are looking for you who live in Skövde or the surrounding area. You love dance and want to share that joy with others. Documented education is meritorious. You don't need to be a world-class artist, but you should feel confident leading a group and able to explain movements in a simple and clear way. The most important thing is your engagement, your pedagogical ability, and that you want to make people feel welcome – regardless of background or level.

• Experience in dance within at least one style, such as children's dance, street, hip hop, jazz, modern, show, ballet, line dance, or similar.
• Experience leading groups in dance, fitness, leisure activities, or similar for at least 1 year
• Ability to plan and conduct a lesson from start to finish
• Good ability to communicate in Swedish, both orally and in writing
• Interest in pedagogy, adult education, and creating inclusive groups
• Positive attitude, sense of responsibility, and a flexible way of meeting different participants

Practical information

About the assignment

Employment type: Project-based employment with hourly wage. Period: approx. 8-10 weeks, with the possibility of continuation. The scope of the position depends on the number of courses and groups, and can fit well alongside studies, another part-time job, or freelance assignments. Working hours are mainly in the afternoons and evenings, weekends, but also during the day depending on the target group for your dance. The activity takes place in Skövde in our premises at Petter Heléns gata 12, which are adapted for dance and movement.
