We are now looking for engaged and development-oriented family therapists to join our team!

The work is carried out in the catchment area of Hisingen. The role involves close collaboration with various authorities and actors to effectively identify young people at risk of social exclusion, criminality, violent extremism, and negative gang formation. One of our goals is for the young people to experience reduced social exclusion and be motivated to change their risky behavior.

Responsibilities

The treatment team consists of three family therapists. The team targets children and young people at risk, aged 12–16, and their families. The team works on behalf of the municipal social services, providing qualified psychosocial treatment interventions. Treatment work with the young person and their family forms the basis of the daily work. The role of a family therapist requires you to be creative and able to meet and engage with young people on their own turf. The starting point is to work intensively with a relatively small number of young people per therapist. In this significant role, you will work with young people and their families to create security and positive changes in their lives. We believe that every individual has potential, and through your work, you will inspire and support them in their personal development.

You will work with young people where there is high anxiety. This is often a complex issue, and we aim to offer flexible and intensive solutions with the goal of enabling the young person to remain living at home while reducing anxiety regarding the young person. The work will be based on various evidence-based methods and take the form of social pedagogical work, child and youth counseling, parent coaching, and family therapy. You will work on the family's own turf as well as in the social services' premises.

Great emphasis is also placed on activating and strengthening both private and professional networks. The intervention may vary depending on needs, which could involve working during early mornings and evenings. To succeed in this work, we emphasize that the team has the opportunity to work towards good cohesion and view the families as a shared responsibility.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are educated as a social worker (socionom) or have a 3-year social pedagogical education. You need to have experience working with various forms of family therapy, youth work, or parental support, as well as good knowledge of children's and young people's development, needs, and behavioral patterns. Experience with authority-based work regarding children and young people is an advantage. The same applies to experience working with children, young people, or families in residential care (24/7 care).

We are looking for someone who is socially secure, enjoys working in a team, and has the ability to build relationships with both children and adults. We also value strong communication skills and the ability to build trust with families and young people.

A significant part of our work involves documentation, so it is important that you can express yourself well both verbally and in writing, and have experience with documentation. We use the software Treserva for documentation.

In this role, you are expected to work after office hours on two occasions per week until 18:30.
