This project position is located within the HR Strategy Department at the Municipal Executive Office. The department has a municipality-wide mandate to develop, lead, and coordinate strategic HR work for the entire organization.

The Project Manager position is linked to the project: HELA Varberg – Health, Engagement, Leadership and Working Environment, which is a municipality-wide development project focused on reducing sick leave and strengthening sustainable structures for working environment and leadership.

Responsibilities

In the role of Project Manager, you contribute to Varberg Municipality's long-term work for a sustainable working life. You have the overall responsibility for planning, leading, and driving the HELA Varberg project forward, from analysis to implementation and follow-up.

The assignment is both strategic and operational, aiming to implement concrete proposals for improved working methods within the working environment and rehabilitation areas. You work closely with HR strategists within Working Environment and Rehabilitation, and together you will achieve the goal of reducing sick leave and strengthening sustainable structures for working environment and leadership. As Project Manager, you are responsible for driving the project forward within given timeframes.

The project employment is fixed-term for approximately 1.5 years on a full-time basis. The intended start date is September 1st.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting comprehensive analysis and mapping of the current situation related to sick leave, working environment, and existing working methods
  • Planning and conducting semi-structured interviews with managers and/or supervisors
  • Identifying organizational areas for improvement and underlying causes of sick leave
  • Reviewing existing processes, routines, and support from a user and quality perspective – making it easy to do the right thing
  • Developing materials and proposals, decision support documents with activities, process improvements, and development initiatives
  • Driving the implementation of decided activities and working methods

Qualifications

To succeed in this assignment, you must be able to communicate clearly and engagingly, adapting your message to different target groups. You have an aptitude for building trusting relationships and collaborate well with managers, specialists, and other stakeholders.

As a person, you are analytical and have the ability to see the big picture and the connections between working environment, organization, leadership, and health. You weigh different needs against each other and translate conclusions into well-founded decision support.

You are result-oriented, take responsibility for driving the work forward, and thrive in change work that creates long-term shifts in the organization.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A relevant university degree in HR or work science, or other education or experience that the employer deems equivalent
  • Experience in statistical, analytical, and investigative work
  • Experience with the rehabilitation chain
  • Experience in leading projects
  • Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish

It is an advantage if you have:

  • Experience from municipal or other politically governed organizations

What we offer

Salary: Monthly salary.
Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
Duration: 6 months or longer.
