Götene Municipality has six primary schools with a total of approximately 1,400 students: five F-6 schools and one 7-9 school. The municipality has four urban areas, with Götene as the central town. There are F-6 schools in all urban areas. We work from a holistic perspective, from preschool through grade 9, focusing on high results and ensuring that children/students thrive and feel well. There is active development work underway in preschools and schools, including after-school centers.
Description
Liljestensskolan is Götene Municipality's unit for all students in grades 7-9. Our obvious starting point is that all staff at the school should work with the student's needs as the focus. Each student should be allowed to develop based on their prerequisites and thereby reach as far as possible.
We are looking for an engaged and relationship-building social pedagogue for our secondary school. With us, you will become an important person in the school's safety work and will collaborate with the student health team, focusing on creating good conditions for students' learning, well-being, and social development.
We actively work for a safe and inclusive school environment where all students feel seen, respected, and motivated to succeed. As a social pedagogue, you contribute a promoting and preventive perspective in close collaboration with teachers, mentors, guardians, and other student health staff.

Responsibilities
As a social pedagogue, you work preventively, promotively, and remedially with students' social situations and school attendance. The tasks include, among other things:
- building trusting relationships with students
- supporting students in social and emotional challenges
- working with safety, study environment, and conflict management
- conducting conversations with students and, if necessary, guardians
- working to promote attendance and follow up on absences
- collaborating with mentors, teachers, and the student health team
- participating in and developing the school's values-based work
- planning and implementing social initiatives at the individual, group, and organizational levels, for example, by participating in the school's student council
- collaborating with external actors such as social services and other authorities when necessary
- being a present adult in the school's common areas during the school day
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have education as a social pedagogue, other relevant post-secondary education in behavioral science, pedagogy, or social work, or other education that the employer considers equivalent. Experience working with young people in a school setting is meritorious.
To succeed in the role, you need to:
- be confident, clear, and relationship-building
- have good collaboration skills and a professional attitude
- be able to work independently and take initiative
- have good ability to create structure and build trust
- be flexible and solution-oriented
- have good communication skills in both speech and writing
It is desirable if you have experience with:
- work in secondary schools
- work with problematic school absenteeism
- motivational interviewing (MI)
- knowledge of RePulse
- low-affect handling
- safety and values-based work
Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.
Conditions
Permanent position, 100%. Start date August 11, 2026, or by agreement. Selection and interview work may be conducted continuously, so apply today but no later than June 14.
