Advanced Psychiatric Home Care, APIH, is a new form of care within specialist psychiatry and offers a flexible alternative to traditional psychiatric inpatient care. Cases come from both outpatient and inpatient care and are designed based on a basic assessment where a safety plan and care agreement are created together with the patient. For many of our patients, the care period begins on one of our ward beds. We then have the opportunity to transition to working with the patient in their home environment, with home visits as needed during the day, evening, and weekend. This means we can shorten the care time on the ward and focus on strengthening the patient in their home environment.

Our work is mostly carried out in the patients' homes with a focus on participation and empowerment for both the patient and relatives. In this way, we can both catch the patient when they are struggling and work for long-term improvement. APIH also has a respite place on one of our inpatient units where patients being cared for at home who are struggling can come in for short stabilization. Research has been initiated to follow the development of the intervention.

We are transitioning to the title "nursing assistant" (undersköterska) and will gradually phase out the title "care assistant" (skötare) within all our psychiatric operations. A process that started on November 1, 2023. Changing the title will not change the need for specialist competence in psychiatry. Specialist competence remains very important and will continue to be developed. Within the administration, work has begun to review what is needed for continued competence development, increased professional knowledge, and development opportunities related to patient work.

Job Responsibilities

We are looking for a new colleague to our team!

In your role as a nursing assistant, no day is the same as the other. You work in a team with home visits among other things, where you and your colleagues treat and guide patients. Your target group is very diverse, and patients of different ages with varying psychiatric issues may be encountered. Together with the patient, relatives, and your colleagues, treatment interventions are decided upon. We have a close team collaboration where all professional roles are important.

Work also takes place in the evenings and on weekends, according to schedule.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are educated as a nursing assistant (undersköterska) or specialist nursing assistant in psychiatry. This means you have a completed upper secondary care and nursing education (2500 credits), a completed care and nursing education via Komvux (minimum 1350 credits), or another equivalent nursing assistant education. The position requires good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. Experience working as a nursing assistant/care assistant in psychiatry is a requirement for the position. Since regular travel occurs in the position, a valid B-driver's license is also a requirement. Good computer skills and basic knowledge of our medical record system Melior are seen as meritorious.

As a person, you are calm and flexible with the ability to change pace when needs arise. You can work independently as well as in a team and have a great commitment to your work. Furthermore, you are structured and have the ability to plan your work well. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Attach the nursing assistant certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare if you have managed to get it, or a degree certificate to the application. If you have not yet received the certificate, you will be given the title of care assistant (omvårdnadsassistent) pending. If you were employed as a nursing assistant on a permanent basis on July 1, 2023, or if you wish to keep the professional title care assistant and were employed as such before November 1, 2023, submit a certificate confirming this.
