About the Job

As a Teaching Assistant in Philosophy, you will prepare and lead certain teaching sessions within the introductory philosophy courses (Philosophy 1, Philosophy 2, Teacher Education Program) as well as some teaching in ethics modules within various programs at the Faculty of Science and Engineering. The teaching includes seminars in the history of philosophy and 20th-century philosophy, lectures and exercises in basic logic, and possibly some supervision of individual advanced projects in Philosophy 2.

About You

To be employed as a Teaching Assistant, you must be admitted to higher education at the first or second cycle level. You should have at least a Master's degree in either practical philosophy or theoretical philosophy.

We are looking for you who are an active student at Linköping University. You should be independent and have experience speaking in front of groups and leading discussions in Swedish. You should have a good ability to explain philosophical concepts, as well as good knowledge of logic. Furthermore, we are looking for someone with good planning skills and who is meticulous. You have good pedagogical skills and can work both independently and in collaboration with colleagues to support the department's operations.

We require you to have:

• Completed Master's thesis in practical or theoretical philosophy
• Completed Bachelor's thesis in practical or theoretical philosophy
• Completed courses in propositional and predicate logic (or equivalent)

It is meritorious if you have:

• Documented experience in teaching technology ethics
• Documented experience in teaching and didactic skills

Your Workplace

You will work at the Department of Philosophy and Applied Ethics. At the department, we research and teach in philosophy and applied ethics. Our research is interdisciplinary and covers both practical and theoretical philosophy. We offer standalone courses and a Master's program in applied ethics.

About the Employment

The employment is a hourly-based position during the period 2026-08-02 to 2027-06-07. The extent of duties is determined by agreement. A position as a Teaching Assistant may correspond to a maximum of 50% of full-time work.

A position as a Teaching Assistant is regulated in Chapter 5 of the Higher Education Ordinance.
