Job Description

The Family Care Department in Nordost – Bergsjön is a unit focused on placed children and foster homes. We offer a strong team spirit, good management, external supervision, and extensive professional development. We are currently looking for two employees for the permanent foster care service.

The family care unit is divided into four different groups: on-call group, recruitment group, family care group, and contact operations. The department is led by a unit manager and two senior social secretaries (1st hand social secretaries) and consists of approximately 25 family care secretaries. We are seeking employees for the permanent family care service (the family care group), where the work is primarily focused on providing individual support, advice, and supervision to foster homes. To succeed in this role, you must collaborate closely with child secretaries. The work also involves investigating new foster homes, continuous documentation, and handling contracts and foster home remuneration. You will work closely with school-family teams and other external partners. Your work will involve both a child's perspective and a foster family perspective. The work is multifaceted, exciting, and challenging, offering you great opportunities for development.

We value teamwork between family care secretaries, child secretaries, investigating social secretaries, family therapists, and other partners. Therefore, we have joint method, team, and well-being days. We have a trust-based leadership style and leverage the capacity and strength found among all children, relatives, and family care secretaries. We believe that together we can achieve the best outcomes for our placed children and foster families.

Foster homes are primarily located in Västra Götaland, Halland County, and Bohuslän, which means some travel is required as part of the job, using cars and other transport. Occasional evening work may occur. Geographically, you will work at the social office in Bergsjön.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a degree in social work (sociologist). It is desirable that you have a genuine interest in working with this target group. Prior experience in foster care and authority operations is considered an advantage. Since the job involves travel, a valid B-driver's license is a requirement. You should be well-versed in the current legislation and regulations within the field.

As a family care secretary, meeting with families in need of support is part of your daily work. Therefore, it is important that you have a good manner of dealing with people, are adaptable, and can easily adjust your working methods based on changed conditions and new information.

Furthermore, we see that you as a candidate are responsible, taking ownership of your and joint tasks with the best interests of the operation and clients in focus. You take your duties seriously, are keen on finishing what you start, and ensure that work is done correctly. As a family care secretary, you plan and organize your work efficiently and can easily reprioritize your tasks during the workday if needed.

In your professional role, we see that you are calm and stable, distinguish between facts and personal matters, and make well-founded decisions within the scope of your assignment. You act independently based on what the situation requires without needing support from others. You have good reflective and analytical skills.

For the position, you need good communication skills and experience with documentation. Therefore, you must be able to formulate yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing. Good computer skills are a requirement, and knowledge of Treserva is seen as an advantage.
