1 position(s).
Our work has a significant impact on the lives of children and young people. The feeling of creating value and making a concrete difference is tangible. Many of us are experienced and have worked for several years in the placement area. Are you a trained social worker with experience in authority operations in the field of children and young people? Welcome!
We are three placement units that are part of the Child and Youth Authority department and belong to the reception, support, and placement area. There are three placement units, and each unit has approximately 25 employees. Within the area, we are a total of approximately 80 people working with our children placed in foster homes.
We work with long-term placements and, in addition to ensuring legal certainty as our primary guideline, focus on building trust and creating relationships with our children/young people/clients as well as their biological networks. We have flexible working hours, and there are opportunities to work from other locations when the operations allow. We are located in modern premises at Bolandsgatan 10a.
Description of Duties
As a Social Secretary, you are responsible for following up on how the children and young people who are placed are doing. We work with authority operations towards individuals. You will meet with our placed children and conduct home visits in their foster homes. You will hold conversations with the children based on their age and maturity, write assessments and reviews of care, investigate needs, and make decisions (according to delegation) regarding the placed child.
We work with children and young people who are placed under both the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Act with Special Provisions on the Care of Young People (LVU). You will make assessments and analyses of the children's needs based on these and other relevant laws.
A large part of your work will also involve collaborating with the children's biological parents and networks. Issues regarding contact/visitation, for example, may be part of your duties. Other tasks may include contract follow-up and contact with other authorities, such as the Swedish Social Insurance Agency and the Region. Travel throughout the country is a natural part of our work. Although we can usually plan our days, there is great variation in our work.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have:
- A degree in Social Work (Social Worker).
- Category B driver's license.
- Good oral and written proficiency in Swedish.
- Experience in authority work with children and young people.
In your professional role, you are secure and have good self-awareness, which allows you to see relationships and situations from a professional perspective. You take responsibility for your tasks and structure your own approach and drive your processes forward. You meet changes with flexibility – you can quickly adapt both your mindset and working methods and see opportunities where others might see obstacles. You collaborate well with others and relate to your surroundings in a listening and agile manner. You listen, communicate, and resolve conflicts constructively.
