The Sterile Processing Unit is a service function serving approximately 300 customers, including most operating units at Lund University Hospital, inpatient wards, as well as health centers and clinics in the surrounding area. We clean, inspect, functionally check, package, and sterilize medical technical products. Our work requires high concentration and precision. We are a wonderful team focused on the patient's best interests.

Job Responsibilities

We now want to strengthen our team with a sterile processing technician or a nursing assistant!

Your work consists of sterile processing tasks such as cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilizing surgical instruments. The work is independent and characterized by personal responsibility, while you always have the support of your colleagues.

If you are interested, there is an opportunity to specialize within the role, for example, by joining our technical group which focuses more on processes, machinery, and quality. There is also the possibility to lead your own work areas. As a new employee, we offer you a comprehensive ten-week introduction, giving you the opportunity to feel secure in the role.

One position involves day and evening shifts. One position involves night shifts only.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are trained as a sterile processing technician (YH 300p) or alternatively as a nursing assistant who meets the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare's requirements for a protected professional title, regardless of whether you studied under the previous or current program structure. You have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. Previous experience working with sterile processing or in an operating department is meritorious. We would appreciate if you have experience working in endoscopy and/or experience with T-Doc.

It is important that you are service-oriented and enjoy teamwork. You are a proficient computer user with an interest in technology and a willingness to learn. We value that you are meticulous, responsible, and accustomed to independent work. Of course, you work according to Region Skåne's values. Personal suitability is given great weight.

Employment type: Permanent position.

If you have not yet received your certificate of protected professional title, you must attach your grades (not just a diploma) from your nursing assistant education. If you were employed as a nursing assistant on a permanent contract on July 1, 2023, and lack the certificate, attach your employment certificate and your grades (not just a diploma) from your nursing assistant education.

If you do not have the certificate, you may be employed as a care assistant on a fixed-term contract while waiting for the certificate.
