At Bräcke Diakoni, we are now looking for summer substitutes for Östergården, a children's and youth residence within functional support. We are a non-profit organization working with care, responsibility, and long-term perspective. Your role with us

At Östergården, you will meet children and young people with significant and varied needs, where your support in care, communication, and daily routines is crucial for their sense of security and well-being. You will work according to a schedule during the summer, primarily weeks 27–33, and become an important part of our team.

Your tasks may include:

• Supporting daily routines and care.
• Participating in play, activities, or quiet moments.
• Interpreting needs and using alternative communication.
• Documentation and administration of delegated medication – after training and supervision by a nurse.
• Collaborating in a dedicated team around each child.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for you who want to contribute to a secure and meaningful daily life for children and young people with significant and varied needs. You are stable, sensitive, and adaptable in your support for each child and situation. You are confident in care-related work and can collaborate with colleagues in an operation where responsibility and engagement are a natural part of everyday life.

Your qualifications:

• At least 1 year of experience in care and social services.
• Experience supporting personal hygiene, meals, and mobility.
• Experience with tube feeding and medication management.
• Very good Swedish language skills (written and spoken).
• Basic computer literacy.

Experience with LSS (Social Services Act for Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments) or functional support is meritorious but not a requirement.

About the residence Östergården

At Östergården, we work with children and young people with significant and varied needs in a facility with 18 residential places. With support under LSS and secure staffing, the children can develop based on their prerequisites. Everyone has their own room and shares common areas where we socialize, play, and create a meaningful daily life together. We take long-term responsibility for each child, with support that stems from participation and strengthens the feeling of being valuable.
