Your responsibilities

As a teacher, your starting point is to work with planning, teaching, evaluation, and values-based work based on the curriculum. The work is carried out both independently and in collaboration with colleagues. In this position, you collaborate, among other things, in the subject group mathematics-physics with approximately 20 subject colleagues.

As a teacher, you collaborate with guardians, colleagues, and other professions within the school to create the best conditions for every student. You base your work on the student group you meet and are expected to create varied and challenging teaching. Using digital tools is a natural part of your teaching.

You promote collegial learning through discussion and reflection at both planned and spontaneous occasions. To benefit the students' learning, as well as your own and the organization's development, you take advantage of the experiences and knowledge of different professions.

This position involves teaching mathematics and physics on our national programs, the Natural Science Program and the Technology Program, as well as mentorship. The position may also involve teaching on the introduction program aimed at students who are not eligible for upper secondary school.

Your workplace

Berzeliusskolan is a centrally located school in Linköping with modern facilities. Here you will find the upper grades of primary school, upper secondary school, and adapted upper secondary school. The upper secondary school includes the natural science and technology programs as well as the introduction program with a focus on language introduction and individual alternatives. In total, there are approximately 1,900 students, of whom over 1,000 are in upper secondary school, and approximately 330 employees at the school.

You who apply

We are primarily looking for you who have a teaching license with eligibility to teach mathematics and physics in upper secondary school. In the second hand, we are looking for you with a completed teacher education for upper secondary school. Alternatively, you are at the end of your education to become a teacher in upper secondary school. It is meritorious if you also have eligibility to teach mathematics and physics in grades 7-9.

It is a requirement that you have experience of working in a curriculum-based school through practice or as an employee. It is meritorious if you have taught in upper secondary school for at least one school year.

In your role as a teacher in upper secondary school, you have good knowledge of the school's mission and are well acquainted with the curriculum (Gy11/Gy25) and other regulatory documents. You have good communicative skills in speech and writing in the Swedish language. This is because, according to the curriculum (Gy11/Gy25), you should organize and carry out the work so that the student receives support in their language and communication development. You are responsible for ensuring that every student can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way.

As a teacher, you are a good role model. You have the ability to adapt your teaching to the students and let them participate in the design of the teaching. In a quality-conscious way, you create good conditions for the student's development and learning and document this. You collaborate well with colleagues, guardians, and other contacts in society that occur in your professional role.
