About the Job

We are now looking for a Child Welfare Officer (Barnsekreterare) for our workplace located at Höstvädersgatan 1. The unit consists of a unit manager, two teams each led by a Senior Social Secretary. We have close cooperation with our sister unit located at Vågmästargatan 1A, which consists of a unit manager and three Child Welfare Officer teams each led by a Senior Social Secretary.

As a Child Welfare Officer, you will follow up on the care of our children and young people placed in foster homes according to the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Law on Care of Young Persons (LVU).

The work includes meetings with children and young people as well as their guardians and foster homes. The work is varied and rewarding as you work at the office on some days and travel on others to meet with the children and other collaborating parties, such as schools and healthcare. In daily case processing, you have close cooperation with the Foster Care Unit, where you plan your follow-ups and together you carry out many trips.

The work implies that you, with support from colleagues and the Senior Social Secretary, work independently and plan your follow-ups. As a Child Welfare Officer, the role also includes some investigative work based on received reports or applications. We work based on the BBIC model and the age span is 0–20 years.

We have a strong focus on the children's participation in care and are constantly working to highlight the children's voice. We work with LÖSA to develop and create participation for those we serve.

Introduction, supervision, and continuous education are seen as a matter of course. Methodological supervision with your team takes place once a week, and frequent case reviews with the Senior Social Secretary take place as needed. The Child Welfare Officer units have joint APT (Annual Performance and Development Review), full-day meetings, and some methodological sessions together.

We have administrative support that assists our units in many areas. We also have access to a lawyer and a specially qualified Social Secretary who can step into certain parts of the case processing to provide support.

About You

We are looking for you who have a degree in Social Work and a B-class driver's license. It is meritorious if you have experience of authority exercise within child and youth services, and we see it as particularly meritorious if that experience comes from working as a Child Welfare Officer.

You have a good ability to collaborate, can take into account different sources of information and perspectives, and adapt others' ideas to your own operations. Good communication is important in all parts of the assignment, and you can express yourself well in writing.

You work efficiently, can balance different demands, and keep your calm in difficult situations. You distinguish between facts and personality and can make well-founded decisions both from a short-term perspective and a long-term one.

It is important that you are confident in the role of Social Secretary.
