Habilitering is specialized healthcare for children and young people with autism, intellectual disability, motor impairment, or acquired brain injury. We provide health-promoting and treatment interventions based on each individual's unique needs and conditions, and possess specialist knowledge of how disabilities affect daily life, health, and development.

Description

Do you want a varied and educational job where you meet children, young people, and their relatives? We hope you will apply for the position of Social Worker (Counselor) at Habiliteringen Hisingen, Child and Adolescent, Autism/ID Clinic. Our unit provides care for children and young people with intellectual disability and autism. Children with autism only are part of our target group until they turn 6 years old. The clinic is located on Lindholmen with good transport connections. The position is a fixed-term contract (100%) from 2026-08-15 to 2027-01-15.

Responsibilities

As a social worker, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team meeting children and young people from the patient's perspective. Your tasks will involve planning and implementing interventions in close collaboration with children, young people, parents, and other professional groups at the clinic, which are subsequently evaluated. Interventions for children and young people can be provided individually or in groups during defined treatment periods. A large part of the social worker's duties consists of parental support interventions, support and crisis counseling, as well as information about societal support.

In addition to the above responsibilities, we have recently started a new working method regarding a standardized care pathway for young children with autism, where the social worker is very involved at the beginning of the care pathway.

You work in close collaboration with children and young people, parents, patient representatives, and colleagues. Together with the team, you plan and implement various interventions directed at the patient or the patient's parents/representatives. Interventions can be given individually or in groups during defined treatment periods. The team evaluates the interventions when they are completed. You are offered an introduction period, supervision, and regular professional meetings with other social workers. In addition to your social work colleagues, you will work with other professional categories such as psychologists, speech therapists, occupational therapists, special education teachers, doctors, nurses, and dietitians.

Qualifications

You who apply must be educated as a social worker, preferably a licensed healthcare social worker, and/or have a few years of professional experience. Experience working with children and young people belonging to our target group is desirable. You should have an interest in working in multidisciplinary teams. The work as a social worker involves collaboration between different professional groups, other healthcare providers, and the municipality, which places high demands on both independence and good cooperation skills. Personal suitability is given great weight.
