About the workplace
The Children's Unit is part of the Child and Youth Section within Individual and Family Care (IFO). We work with investigation and follow-up of interventions according to the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Law on Care of Young Persons (LVU). The target group is families with children aged 0-12 years and their network. Our primary focus is to conduct good social work. New employees have good collegial support from their colleagues and managers. The unit is divided into four smaller groups with a group leader in each group to provide close support to the social secretaries. In general, social secretaries work in pairs.
We have an induction program that spans the first year of employment and includes individually adapted induction as well as group training. If you are more experienced, we create a long-term development plan together to best promote your continued development. All groups have external supervision and ongoing competence development. We are proud of the work we do and want to continue to work for improvement. We work jointly across the unit with method and development issues. At our unit, you have great scope to use your knowledge, and you are responsible together with your colleagues in the group for ensuring that social work is carried out in a legally secure, professional, and respectful manner.
We sit in pleasant premises, together with a colleague or in your own office, in Flemingsberg, one of the municipality's most expansive areas, with good communications and proximity to both nature and important hubs such as Huddinge Hospital and Södertörn University.
About the work
We are looking for dedicated employees who want to perform qualified investigative work and be responsible for the follow-up of interventions. We work to increase children's safety and stability in their home environment and to encourage and strengthen families' own resources. The social secretaries have practical support from an administrative case worker and support in the form of a scribe who writes our decision bases in some cases. Two of our social secretaries have assignments as home investigators. A coordinator for the Children's House also belongs to the unit. We work according to the Signs of Safety approach, which all employees receive training in. We also have social secretaries who coach in the approach. The unit also has coaches in the Motivational Interviewing method, which is also a basic training for everyone working at the unit.
We are a cheerful, friendly, and helpful group who enjoy our workplace. We all have a high commitment with the child's best interest in focus, which you of course share.
Your profile
We are looking for you who have a social work degree and preferably previous experience of exercising authority, preferably within child welfare authorities. It is meritorious if you have knowledge of Signs of Safety and MI (Motivational Interviewing).
At the unit, we work both independently and together with others. As a person, you need to have personal maturity and good empathetic ability. We collaborate with other actors around the child and we usually work in pairs, so you need to be both relationship-building and have a good ability to collaborate.
With us awaits an exciting, flexible, and varied work where we together at the unit contribute to the continued development work to secure the quality of the operation and give room to develop in your professional role.
