Almtunaskolan is a municipal primary school in Uppsala, offering education from preschool class to year 6. The school has approximately 580 students and around 60 employees, and is characterized by the vision "Through safety, joy, and participation, we reach our goals." At Almtunaskolan, we work systematically with quality, collegial learning, and an inclusive approach to ensure all students have good conditions for success.

The school is led by the principal and deputy principal and has well-functioning structures for collaboration, student health services, and pedagogical development. We actively work on safety and study environment, among other things through IBIS (Inclusive Behavioral Support in Schools). Almtunaskolan is currently temporarily housed in Brantingsskolans newly built premises, where the operations are conducted while the school's regular premises are being renovated and expanded.

Description of Duties

As a music teacher, you are responsible for teaching music to students in years 1–6 in accordance with the current curriculum and course plan. The assignment includes planning, implementing, and following up on music teaching based on the governing documents. You are responsible for creating a safe, structured, and inspiring learning environment where all students are given the opportunity to participate and develop. You also adapt the teaching to students' different needs, prerequisites, and knowledge levels.

The role also includes assessing, documenting, and following up on students' knowledge development in music. You collaborate with colleagues in work teams and contribute to the school's joint pedagogical development work, as well as collaborating with student health services when necessary and having professional contact with guardians. In addition, you participate in the school's joint activities, meetings, and competence development.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a teaching license with eligibility to teach music in years 1–6. You have good knowledge of the primary school curriculum and course plan in music. You have the ability to plan, implement, and follow up on teaching in the subject based on current governing documents. The assignment also includes assessing and documenting students' knowledge development in music in a structured and professional manner. For this position, you need previous experience of teaching music in the earlier years of primary school and experience of working in municipal school operations.

In your role, you have the ability to create a safe, structured, and creative teaching environment where students feel motivated to participate and develop. Through clear leadership, you can lead student groups, create engagement, and contribute to peace and quiet in the classroom. You adapt the teaching to students' different prerequisites and needs and work to ensure that everyone is given the best possible learning. Furthermore, you have good collaboration skills and enjoy working in teams, while treating students, colleagues, and guardians in a professional and respectful manner. Digital competence and the ability to use digital tools for teaching, planning, and documentation are important. Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, is a prerequisite for the position.

It is meritorious to have experience of adapting music teaching for students in need of special support. Knowledge of inclusive and differentiated working methods in aesthetic subjects is also considered desirable.

Uppsala Municipality applies individual and differentiated salary setting according to the current collective agreement.
