In Upplands-Bro Municipality, we have approximately 2,000 employees dedicated to providing our residents and visitors with the best possible service and experience. Here, you contribute to building a municipality where a holistic perspective, engagement, and professionalism permeate the organization. Together, we carry out our common societal mission.

The housing support staff operate from our meeting place, Växhuset, and the employment center Athena, where work instructors offer social interaction and activities. Housing support interventions usually take place in the user's home, but support may also include working together with the user outside the home as well as social training. The role involves varied work, requiring you to be flexible and consider the whole picture for both the user and the operations.

As a housing support worker, you have the user at the center of your work and support them towards increased independence based on the Individual Needs in Center (IBIC) approach. You are responsible for ongoing documentation in the case and create an implementation plan together with the user based on the benefit decision. You collaborate with both internal and external actors in the user's vicinity. The role is varied, and you work long-term, motivationally, and with a focus on the user's abilities and participation. You work with users who have intellectual disabilities and/or substance abuse issues.

We are looking for you who:

  • Are a treatment assistant, social pedagogue, or have equivalent experience that the employer deems equal and relevant for the work.
  • Have experience working with people who have substance abuse issues and intellectual disabilities.
  • Have knowledge of current legislation for the target group.
  • Have good written communication skills and are computer literate.
  • Hold a valid B-driver's license.
  • Additional qualifications such as training in MI (Motivational Interviewing), low-affective handling, or equivalent are meritorious.

We place great importance on personal qualities. We appreciate that you have good collaboration skills and can work both independently and in a team. You possess personal maturity, are confident in yourself, and can convey this to your surroundings. You can meet people in crisis, are structured, and have a solution-focused approach. You have active employee engagement and are eager to contribute to the unit's development work.

We offer:

The advantages of a small municipality, including short decision-making paths, close leadership, and great opportunities to participate in the development of the work. We foster active employee engagement and a feedback culture. We have engaged colleagues, fitness subsidies, Yrkesresan disability benefits, and flexible working hours.

About the position:

The position is a permanent full-time role. Probation may apply. Start date is by agreement.

About the recruitment process:

We look forward to receiving your application by June 9, 2026. You apply easily by attaching your CV, but without a cover letter. Instead, answer our selection questions. Candidates who meet all requirements (education, knowledge, and experience) will be contacted for the next step in the process. Reference checks and background checks are conducted on the final candidate before an agreement is signed.

All offers regarding advertising and assistance in the recruitment process are declined.

We warmly welcome your application!

In Upplands-Bro, we strive for dignified aging, where the individual's needs are prioritized. Elderly care is about providing opportunities for independence and choice in housing and care. We set high demands on quality and continuous follow-up to ensure an elderly-friendly and dignified environment.

Upplands-Bro Municipality is one of Sweden's most expansive municipalities where development is at the center. We welcome you to a workplace where the key words in our work and attitude are Holistic Perspective, Engagement, and Professionalism.
