1. A Snapshot of Your Day

We are looking for a Project Manager to join the Project Management team within Global Service Operations for medium-sized gas turbines, on behalf of our client. This is a fantastic opportunity to experience an ambitious and rewarding role in a collaborative and dynamic environment. As a Commercial Project Manager, you will work closely with the project management team and report to the Head of Commercial Project Management. You will have full responsibility for the commercial and financial aspects in the execution of a defined portfolio of service/aftermarket projects. You are an integral part of the project's core team, ensuring performance and customer satisfaction alongside commercial success.

2. How You’ll Make an Impact

• You have full responsibility for all commercial and financial matters, including but not limited to accounting, legal, tax, currency risk management, and NCM (Non-Conformance Material).

• You manage and optimize financial results with professional diligence (e.g., project revenue, gross profit, cash flow, balance sheet items, and financing instruments).

• You are responsible for commercial documentation related to regular project meetings and ensure accuracy in commercial project data throughout the project execution phase.

• You ensure compliance with IFRS 15, local GAAP requirements, reporting guidelines, and internal controls.

• You ensure the accuracy of project accounting, including registration in applied systems such as SAP, global reporting systems, and our internal project databases.

• You are responsible for invoicing in accordance with the project plan and contractual terms.

• You are responsible for the management of bank guarantees, letters of credit, and other payment securities.

• You support the Project Manager in identifying and minimizing cost overruns and in implementing lessons learned from the specific project and the organization in general.

• You support the Project Manager in identifying, evaluating, and assessing risks as well as opportunities and strategies.

• Business travel may be required.

3. What You Bring

• Relevant university degree.

• Previous experience in project economics/accounting or other commercial areas such as banking.

• You have the ability to collaborate, possess a holistic perspective combined with analytical skills. You are curious, unpretentious, and not afraid to ask questions.

• Strong data and IT experience (preferably SAP and Microsoft applications such as Excel, Teams, etc., and visualization tools like Power BI).

• Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written. Knowledge of other languages is a plus.

4. About the Team

The Finance Team for GSO MGT is a diverse team with employees from all over the world and of different ages. We believe in inclusion, transparency, collaboration, and communication. The Commercial Project Managers/Project Economists within GSO MGT are divided into two subgroups. You will functionally belong to the team that works directly with our service projects within a defined geographical market. You will be the lead Commercial Project Manager for approximately 10–15 service projects during the project execution phase. We apply a flexible and hybrid working approach, but we believe that onboarding is best performed at the office and together with your colleagues.
