The operational SIG team (Social Intervention Group) works proactively with youth and young adults in the Nordost district. The mission aims to prevent new recruitment into criminal networks, increase access to support measures, and contribute to safety in the area through presence, relationship-building, and collaboration.

The work takes place in environments where the target group spends time – schools, youth clubs, residential areas – and is characterized by long-term presence, trust, and an individual focus. Through motivational interviewing and concrete guidance, the team supports young people in taking steps towards education, employment, treatment, or other forms of support.

A mission in close collaboration

Operational SIG is part of the UngAngered unit and serves as the proactive link within Team-SIG. Team-SIG is a collaboration forum where the social services' operational units, the adult unit, and employment support work closely together regarding young people at risk and individuals wishing to leave a criminal lifestyle.

Within Team-SIG, there is continuous collaboration regarding interventions, assessments, and planning with the goal of creating holistic solutions and quickly offering the right support at the right time. As an operational SIG worker, you are a vital part of this interaction and contribute to turning a shared situational overview into concrete action.

As a staff member in Operational SIG, you work proactively during daytime, evenings, and some weekends. The focus is on relationship-building work, where presence and trust are central. You motivate and guide towards education, work, or treatment. The team is led by the unit manager and method supervisor within UngAngered. You are part of an experienced team of colleagues and work need-based in close dialogue with other professions. The role requires strong collaboration skills, sensitivity, and a solution-focused approach.

Qualifications

You must have a university degree as a social worker (socionom) or equivalent education assessed by the employer as equivalent. Further education in crime programs, Ester, or Savry is meritorious.

It is meritorious if you have experience working with the target group and have good knowledge of the local conditions and challenges in Nordost. You should be familiar with the work of SSPF and SIG and preferably have prior experience from social services.

You will collaborate with many actors around the young person, both within the professional and private networks. Therefore, you need to have a humble approach and actively contribute to good collaboration. You have good knowledge of documentation and possess strong skills in structuring your tasks and managing your time. Since the work is based on the target group's conditions, some working hours may be scheduled for evenings, so it is important that you are flexible regarding working hours and forms of work.

You should believe in the individual's abilities and willingness to change. We would appreciate it if you brought broad language and cultural competence to the role.

About us

The Social Services Administration Nordost works to provide residents in northeastern Gothenburg with equal and effective welfare, enabling them to live safe and independent lives.
