Do you want to make a difference for children suspected of being victims of crime? We are now looking for an engaged coordinator who wants to contribute to our important work.

Other Information

Interviews are planned to be held during week 26.

About the Operations

Children under 18 years old who are suspected of being victims of crimes in close relationships, violence, sexual abuse, child peace crimes, or other serious violent crimes come to Barnahus. The catchment area consists of all municipalities in Sjuhärad, as well as Alingsås and Lerum. Barnahus Älvsborg is located in central Borås and is waiting to move to larger and more operationally suitable premises in the future.

Barnahus belongs to the Center Against Violence within the Individual and Family Care Administration in the City of Borås. The Center Against Violence also includes Resource Center Älvsborg, the Domestic Violence Unit, and the Support Center for Young People. The unit has a unit manager and a senior social secretary.

At Barnahus, three coordinators employed by social services, a coordinator from the police, and a social worker from Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (BUP) work part-time. Other professionals come to the operations for their specific assignments. At Barnahus, children suspected of being victims of crime are interviewed. Through consultation, the entire intervention is planned, and an assessment is made in each individual case regarding whether treatment consultations should be conducted and which professions and operations should meet with interventions. Good collaboration and a good approach with the child at the center are our most important keywords.

Barnahus Älvsborg collaborates closely with Resource Center Älvsborg, a project focused on honor-related violence. Resource Center Älvsborg is run with a similar organization as Barnahus, and staff help each other with advisory hotlines, information efforts, consultations, etc.
