We are now looking for a school counselor who will join our student health team and help develop operations at all levels.

We are looking for a counselor who will work with our students in close collaboration with teachers, parents, and staff in the student health team. The counselor contributes psychosocial and social competence to the student health work at various levels. Supervision and consultation within the psychosocial area imply indirect support in the operation for both individuals and groups. Work at an overarching level includes structural work aimed at strengthening the school as an environment for learning, health, and development. As a counselor with us, you focus on preventive and promoting work. In collaboration with the entire school staff, you work on and to develop the school's joint student health work.

Your responsibilities:

  • Social investigation, mapping, and action planning.
  • Work to develop the school's working environment for students within the student health team and in collaboration with others.
  • Work on values-based work and relationship building together with teachers.
  • Parent meetings and network meetings.
  • Supervision and consultation of school staff.
  • Drive and implement plans and processes for values-based work and work against bullying and offensive behavior.
  • Work with crisis management and conflict resolution.
  • Systematically work with conversations with students individually and in groups.
  • Collaborate with social services, child and adolescent psychiatry, habilitation, field assistants, police, etc.

Your qualifications

You have a salutogenic approach and the ability to handle multiple perspectives in both direct student work and indirect preventive work. You possess a broad range of working methods and deep knowledge of children and young people in general, and the student group the school targets in particular. You have deep knowledge of behavioral and social sciences, social legislation, and social treatment work. You have knowledge of the legislation governing school operations. Furthermore, a broad and continuously updated knowledge of the external environment is expected.

You have good knowledge of NPD (Neuropsychiatric Disabilities). You have a good ability to work both independently and in close collaboration with colleagues. In dialogue with the principal, you are able to lead and organize your work yourself. You take responsibility for maintaining and deepening your professional competence and your knowledge of the external environment. You have good experience in supervising colleagues and coaching guardians. You are a stable and secure person who creates trust and calm among students and colleagues.

You have a degree in social work or equivalent education, as well as experience working as a school counselor and/or experience working in relevant operations. Furthermore, you have documented experience in systematically working with behavioral change.

Other

The position is a fixed-term employment (50%) for the school year 2026/2027, starting in the autumn term of 2026. Interviews are conducted on an ongoing basis.
