About the job

Do you want to make a difference for women in acute homelessness? Alma is an emergency shelter for women aged 21 and over. We accept placements around the clock. The women placed at Alma are in acute homelessness, often combined with substance use, exposure to violence, mental health issues, etc. There is no requirement for sobriety or drug-free status at our facility. Since one of Alma's night treatment assistants is on parental leave, we are looking for a replacement for her.

As a night treatment assistant, you will work to provide secure support for the women placed with us. You will work closely with the rest of the staff, and the ability to collaborate is crucial for us to carry out our mission together. At Alma, we use proven methods such as MI, LAB, ÅP, and TMO. We constantly strive to increase our knowledge and adapt our working methods to the needs of the users. At Alma, there is a method supervisor with coordination responsibilities and a unit manager during daytime hours. The staff group consists of 9 treatment assistants (day/evening/weekend) and 4 treatment assistants (night). The entire group has regular external supervision and joint APT (Annual Performance and Development Review) meetings.

About you

You who apply should have at least a two-year YH (University College) education with a focus on social work, or alternatively a university degree as a social worker, behavioral scientist, or another education that the employer deems equivalent. It is meritorious if you have experience from social work, for example within psychiatry or addiction care. If you have further training in the areas of psychiatry, addiction care, and domestic violence, we consider this meritorious.

You are calm and confident in pressured and difficult situations. You can balance the demands placed on you and can make well-founded decisions despite time pressure.

You are pleasant and helpful towards other people, even in a stressful situation. You show respect for everyone you meet at work. You are inviting and positive. You work to ensure that the student/client/user gets what that person needs.

You can withstand pressure from others, set boundaries, and say no when necessary. You are clear in your professional role and act professionally in situations where others question you or make unreasonable demands.

You are meticulous, work focused, and care about details. You ensure that the work is done correctly. You check and follow up on your work to ensure it maintains high quality.

The Social Services Department Southwest is one of four social services departments in the City of Gothenburg with around 900 employees. In the Southwest urban area, approximately 120,000 residents live, and the area stretches from Billdal to Högsbohöjd and to the southern archipelago.
