Personal Assistant at Lerum Municipality – Summer Job 2025

Lerum Municipality is known for its beautiful natural settings with lakes and forests. The municipality has 3,200 employees and 43,000 residents, but expects significant growth in the coming years. Lerum is located just a 20-minute drive from Gothenburg and is currently facing a period of intense development with many exciting projects underway, ranging from schools to housing. Schedule Period

You will work during the period from week 26 to week 33. To be eligible for a work schedule, you must be available to work for at least four consecutive weeks during this period, but you are welcome to work the entire summer. The minimum employment level will be 75%, but there is also an opportunity to work 100% in some units.

You can also work as an hourly substitute if needed before and after your summer schedule.

Working Hours

Work shifts are scheduled during the day, evening, and overnight on weekdays and weekends. 24-hour shifts may also be relevant.

Introduction

Before your first shift, you will be introduced to your duties, routines, and the users' needs by a supervisor at the workplace. You will also complete online training and receive medication delegation.

Job Responsibilities

The assignments involve extensive care work, where you need to be confident working independently and being physically active. It is a responsible and meaningful assignment where you make a real difference for another person every day.

You work in the user's home but also collaborate with colleagues, relatives, and other professional actors in the user's vicinity.

Tasks may include, but are not limited to:

  • Personal care, including showering, toilet assistance, and hygiene routines
  • Mobility assistance using aids – good technique and experience are required
  • Medication management according to delegation
  • Support during meals, tube feeding may occur
  • Cleaning, laundry, and other household tasks
  • Social support and presence
  • Participation in activities, such as walks or outings
  • Documentation according to current routines in our systems

Qualifications

Who are you?

You have previous experience working in personal assistance or other forms of healthcare and are confident in your professional role. You are accustomed to taking responsibility, working independently, and acting professionally in various situations. Your commitment to good care is evident in your interaction with users, relatives, and colleagues.

You have previously held medication delegation. We would appreciate it if you had experience working according to implementation plans and following up on interventions as decided.

To thrive in this role, you need to be structured, have good judgment, and be able to build trusting relationships. We place special emphasis on empathy, a service-oriented attitude, and integrity – qualities that are central to everything we do.

Documentation is a natural part of the job, as is communication with care recipients, relatives, colleagues, and other professional actors. Therefore, good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written, is required.
