About the position

We are now looking for a Study and Career Counselor (SYV) for our school in Uppsala. We are looking for you who are educated and qualified as a study and career counselor (or currently undergoing education). The role involves individual and group study counseling, as well as some administrative tasks.

You should be positive, engaged, and passionate about the student's development, both academically and as a person. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with young people, is willing to put in that extra effort for our students, and is driven by seeing them grow and develop.

You will be part of a team with knowledgeable and engaged colleagues who collaborate to create a safe and developmental environment. There is great openness among the teachers, and we share a common responsibility for ensuring all students succeed.

Our schools work according to a common pedagogical model based on our mission, vision, values, and eight key characteristics. The model guides us in our work to contribute to students' knowledge, personal development, and learning, with a focus on positive effects on learning and knowledge development.

Most lessons are cohesive and long, with 120–180 minutes of teaching time. The lessons follow a structure with clear goals and purposes and vary in working methods.

Qualifications

We are primarily looking for you who are an experienced study and career counselor. In addition to your SYV competence, we value your engagement, your pedagogical competence, and your ability to inspire and engage students.

We value your ability to meet students based on their knowledge and needs, as well as your ability to build good relationships. You are curious and work actively to ensure every student develops as far as possible based on their prerequisites.

It is important to us that you are motivated by challenging yourself, your colleagues, and students to contribute to your own as well as the school's and students' development.

Employment: Permanent position with a six-month probation period.

Grillska Gymnasium in Uppsala is located in pleasant premises in Ekebybruk. The school offers six different national programs, both university-preparatory and vocational. The personal meeting, pride among students and teachers, innovation, and results in the form of knowledge and personal development are important cornerstones of our operations. Characteristic of the school is a close collaboration between students and teachers in a safe study environment.

Grillska Gymnasium in Uppsala has existed since 2013 and currently educates approximately 350 students in both university-preparatory and vocational programs. We are a highly engaged staff group working together with a focus on students' knowledge development and well-being.

Grillska Gymnasium Uppsala is a family-oriented school in pleasant premises with good communications in Ekeby bruk. Students can choose between four university-preparatory programs and three vocational programs. Grillska hosts Uppsala's only traditional hairdressing school, which also has its own salon.
