We are looking for a special needs teacher who wants to take an active responsibility for developing students' learning and the school's working methods in a role where you get to lead, influence, and drive change.

Who are we?

Ljuraskolan is centrally located in Norrköping, within walking distance to both forest and city center, and close to the Central Baths and Vasaparken. Approximately 65 employees work at our school, divided between primary school and adapted primary school, with two principals.

The adapted primary school has nearly 40 students divided into five classes. We have students who study according to subject and area-specific curricula. This autumn, Ljuraskolan's adapted primary school will consist of eight teachers, four leisure center teachers, and approximately 10 student assistants.

We work together to create safety and an inclusive environment where all students can reach their full potential. At the group and individual level, we work with student influence, participation, independence, and increasing our students' self-confidence.

Your responsibilities

You are part of the student health team and have a special needs pedagogical as well as coordinating role. You participate in meetings and regularly meet work teams and teachers to collaborate and provide support regarding students and student groups.

In your coordinating role, you, together with the principals, are responsible for assessing support needs and planning support measures in dialogue with colleagues. You have a supervisory role and work to ensure that support is planned legally securely with a promoting and preventive focus. Within the framework of your special needs pedagogical role, teaching may be included in the form of co-teaching with teachers and/or teaching of students in need of special support. Dialogue with guardians and collaboration with external partners is a natural part of your assignment.

You are responsible for, together with others, conducting pedagogical mappings to investigate if students are in need of special support, as well as drawing up action plans when necessary. An important part of your work is to, in dialogue with principals and other employees at the school, continue to develop our student health work to make it even more systematic, salutogenic, and promoting. You have a responsibility to lead processes such as transitions within and between schools, and to develop our student health routines.

Who are you?

You are trained as a special needs teacher. You have experience in special needs pedagogical work and teaching, as well as a good understanding of students' different needs and how learning environments can be developed to promote learning. You are well-versed in the school's governing documents.

Furthermore, you have experience in organizing and leading student health work and in working with students in grades 1-6. You have good knowledge of the organization of student health services and how different professions together contribute to students' development and goal achievement. We would like you to have experience in driving development work and in supervising colleagues in special needs pedagogical matters.

As a person, you are confident in leading, coaching, and developing others. You are flexible and adapt easily to new situations and changed needs. You work strategically, have good organizational understanding, and see how the organization's goals, structure, and processes are connected. You are team-oriented, share knowledge, and contribute actively to the team.

You have good knowledge of Swedish, both in speech and writing.
