We are looking to hire more of Sweden's best social secretaries. At Children and Youth, you will find meaningful and challenging work. We perform tasks that make a difference for our children and young people – and here, it really matters.
About the Unit
The Authority for Placement dares and is able to meet vulnerable children. We always base our work on the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, focusing on the child's needs and participation, and we handle child welfare cases with high quality and efficiency. Our unit consists of 13 social secretaries, one administrator, two parent support workers (one of whom also mentors social secretaries), three team leaders, and one unit manager.
We have reorganized the Children and Youth operations to support the Signs of Safety approach. As an employee, you are our most important resource; therefore, we constantly work on developing methods and tools so that together we can achieve our challenging goals and fulfill our mission. Here, you have the opportunity to influence the development and design of working methods.
Your Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities include following up on interventions for placed children, supporting children and their biological parents and networks, including unaccompanied children, who need care in network homes, emergency homes, and foster homes according to the Social Services Act (SoL) or the Young Persons Act (LVU). The social secretary and the foster home secretary work in a joint team regarding the placed child. Since September 1, 2024, we have been a new unit that collaborates closely with foster home secretaries at the Client Service Unit.
In 2026, we will focus on:
- Work Environment: It is important that we have a good working situation and enjoy our jobs.
- Signs of Belonging: Implementing the Signs of Belonging approach to increase safety for our placed children.
- Relationships: Ensuring all placed children have a relationship with their social secretary – we will meet the children often and develop our knowledge in talking to children about difficult matters and violence.
Your manager wants you to feel:
- That your thoughts and ideas are received positively.
- That you are important at the workplace.
- That I have time for you.
- That you receive the support you need.
