Do you have ideas for the future and are you driven by challenges? In Haninge, you will develop alongside supportive colleagues who want to make a difference right now. Currently, one of the most ambitious change projects in our municipality's history is underway. We are building a new city, approximately 20 minutes from Söder. Join us on this journey.

Welcome to develop with us

Haninge is a forward-thinking municipality. In 2023, we were among the first municipalities to establish a first and second-line social services structure, a step in adapting to the future of social services and the new Social Services Act.

Within the second-line social services, child welfare area, we support children and families assessed to need interventions preceded by investigation, and we follow up on needs-based interventions. We work in a target-group-focused and team-based manner throughout the entire process. This means we coordinate investigations and interventions in collaboration with both internal and external actors, basing our work on evidence- and knowledge-based methods.

The second-line social services child welfare area consists of units for investigation, foster care/contact activities, as well as interventions and special functions. The area as a whole is led by a area manager, each unit by a unit manager, and each group by its own group leader.

Welcome to our unit: The Unit for Interventions and Special Functions!

We are now looking for a temporary social secretary for our intensive investigation group, as one of our employees is on parental leave. Our unit works with targeted functions and is divided into two groups, each with its own group leader. One group focuses on residential care (HVB) placements and interventions, while the other focuses on safety planning, SIP coordination, and intensive home-based investigations.

As a temporary social secretary, you will be part of the intensive investigation team. During an intensified investigation period, we investigate the child's situation, need for protection and support, and assess receptiveness to change work. The target group is children who have previously been subject to investigation where concerns were based on declining parental capacity and related issues. The work takes place largely in the family's home through conversations, observations, and minor interventions (such as introducing visual aids or similar). The working model involves the intensive investigation team initially mapping the family's history and current situation, followed by intensive, home-based investigative and intervening measures over 6-8 weeks. Afterward, the investigation is compiled with a focus on needs and goals for further interventions. Once interventions are underway, the case is handed over to a social secretary for further follow-up.

You are expected to work in a structured manner with great flexibility based on the specific situation of the children and parents. The idea is that we should already work towards initiating a positive change process during the investigation period. In many cases, this also involves engaging and mobilizing the family's network.

Your role

  • In a team together with social secretaries and family therapists/family pedagogues, you investigate the needs of children and young people for protection and support, focusing on the child's needs and development, observations, receptiveness to change work, and network work.
  • You need to be flexible with working hours as part of the investigation work will take place in the family's home environment, which may involve working hours scheduled for early mornings and afternoons. You and your co-handler determine yourselves which home visits need to be conducted based on the nature of the case.

What we are looking for in you

  • Social Work degree (Social Worker)
  • Experience working within child and youth social services
  • Good knowledge of social services processes
  • Knowledge of BBIC (Benchmarks for Safety and Change)
  • Knowledge of Signs of Safety

It is an advantage if you have worked with or have further competence development in children's needs/development, observations/interaction, and/or worked with visual aids.

Your skills

As an employee here, it is natural that you enjoy collaborating with others, but also that you can work independently. You are good at building good relationships, you are receptive and clear in your communication. You have good knowledge of child development and keep up with current research. You need to have the ability to limit your scope, work calmly and methodically when others around you are stressed. We are looking for someone who can see possibilities in complex social work, is good at collaborating, is flexible, curious, and has the best interests of the children at the forefront.

What we can offer you

We who work here are knowledgeable and engaged in our work, care for each other, and value a good atmosphere in the groups. We want our work to be characterized by consensus, quality, and legal certainty, and we believe it is important to develop in our work. We are a happy work group and enjoy working together even if we have slightly different tasks within the group.

In order to strengthen our quality and create conditions for our employees to use their competence resource-efficiently and with the best interests of the children in focus, we have chosen to make the following investments:

  • Proximity to the nearest manager and accessible group leaders.
  • There is an established structure for regular support such as case reviews and external supervision.
  • Specialist social workers with a cross-organizational assignment in areas such as method support, implementation, and recurring training.
  • A business developer as support for our continued development with a target-group-focused approach.
  • A placement coordinator as support in seeking external placement forms and handling contracts.
  • Administrators with the task of relieving and supporting.
  • We have a structure to enable remote work for those who wish and based on the needs of the operations.
