About the Department

We provide highly specialized care for patients with peripheral vascular diseases. The work is both broad and varied, as we investigate and treat patients with various vascular diseases of both medical and surgical nature. The most common surgical conditions within our operation are carotid stenosis, aortic aneurysm, and critical ischemia, which are treated both endovascularly and with open surgery. The medical diagnoses are primarily pulmonary embolism, deep vein thrombosis, and malignant hypertension. Patients may have both short and long hospital stays and are of varying ages.

We are one of Skåne University Hospital's (Sus) profile areas and are responsible for vascular care in the southwestern and middle healthcare districts of Skåne, as well as for the highly specialized treatment of vascular diseases throughout the Southern Healthcare Region. Although we are specialized and at the forefront, we are a smaller unit, which contributes to a personal and relaxed atmosphere.

Responsibilities

As a nursing assistant with us, you have an important role in being the one closest to the patient, and your main focus is on providing them with nursing care and support. A large part of your work consists of preparing the patient for surgery as well as providing postoperative care. You will join an operation that is at the forefront in its field and where the patient flow is high. This provides work with pace, varied tasks, and sometimes acute situations.

Here you work in pairs with a nurse, and together you provide person-centered care, based on the needs of each patient. With us, you will work in a well-knit group, where good cooperation and respect for each other's competence are crucial for providing the patient with the best care.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are trained as a nursing assistant and meet the National Board of Health and Welfare's requirements for a protected professional title, regardless of whether you studied under the previous or current program structure. Preferably with a focus on emergency care/healthcare. You have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. We see that you have previous experience as a nursing assistant, preferably from work in a hospital or alternatively in primary care. If you have experience of pre- and/or postoperative care or vascular patients, we see this as meritorious. Likewise, it is meritorious if you have experience of documentation in Melior.

This is a position for you who thrive working in a specialized operation where you gain in-depth knowledge in the field of vascular care. You are motivated by being closest to the patient and can meet individuals with different backgrounds and needs, always working with the patient's best interest in focus. The department has a large influx of patients, which means that the work pace is varied and acute situations sometimes arise. Therefore, we see that you have the ability to keep calm, prioritize between tasks, and make decisions. In your contact with both patients and colleagues, you have a positive and humble manner, and you are happy to share your knowledge and contribute to a good atmosphere in the work group. Great importance is attached to personal suitability.
