About the position
We are now looking for a counselor for our counseling group within the Cancer and Women's Health sections in Solna at Karolinska University Hospital. The unit works interprofessionally and has an active focus on developing psychosocial care for patients and relatives.
As a counselor, you work with crisis, social, and psychosocial investigation, assessment, and treatment work from a holistic perspective of the individual. The work takes place in close collaboration with medical teams and other professional categories, where the counselor plays an important and active role.
Responsibilities include, among other things:
- Holding crisis and support conversations with patients and relatives
- Working in medical teams around the patient
- Providing advice on social issues
- Communicating with authorities
- Collaborating with other healthcare providers and voluntary organizations
- Supervising social work students
The position is a permanent employment.
We are looking for someone who
- Takes responsibility for your tasks and drives processes forward independently
- Is relationship-building and establishes and maintains professional collaborations
- Has a holistic view and acts based on the best interests of the unit and the patient
- Works structurally by planning, organizing, and prioritizing your work effectively
Great emphasis is placed on personal qualities.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Degree in Social Work (Social Worker)
- Good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written
Merits:
- Licens as a healthcare counselor with eligibility to work in Sweden
- Experience in counseling within healthcare
