Stockholm – our capital city of millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions. We work for everyone living here today and in the future. We are now looking for you who want to think big, new, and different with us – for the people of Stockholm.
Workplace Description
"Our students have dreams and dare to follow them"
Rödabergsskolan is an extraordinary F-9 school!
We are located in Vasastan, close to Odenplan, Hagaparken, and the new Hagastaden area. At Rödabergsskolan, we have a school-developing approach, and we work goal-oriented and process-focused based on the school's vision "Our students have dreams and dare to follow them". Take the chance to work at our newly renovated and built school. We thrive here in our new, fresh premises and at a workplace that is growing. Come and become our colleague and contribute to our development, to our common future!
Job Description
We want to increase the conditions for working promotively and preventively for our students in the middle school (grades 4–6). This position is an reinforcement during the autumn semester and is therefore a fixed-term employment until the Christmas holiday, with a chance of extension through the end of the school year. The position may potentially become permanent in the future.
During the autumn semester, you will primarily work with students in grades 4–6. It is also important to be aware that the role of a social pedagogue covers all students at the school, which means that work with other age groups may become relevant in the future. You will have close collaboration with our teachers and leisure center staff in the middle school, as well as cooperate with the two other social pedagogues at the school.
Your tasks are to support students throughout the school environment. As a social pedagogue, you support students during breaks, in between lessons, and in the classroom as needed. You work promotively and preventively by strengthening students' self-esteem and social skills. You need to be a positive role model who helps with conflict resolution and prevents bullying and other negative behaviors among students.
You are expected to uphold a relational approach towards students and, just like us, value well-functioning communication with guardians so that the student's development is benefited in the best way. All school staff are expected to work from a differentiated approach and contribute to teaching that is preventive and health-promoting.
You work solution-focused, and your collaboration with colleagues, students, and guardians is professional, relational, and flexible. You find it easy to collaborate and create good working relationships and have a coaching and supervisory approach in your meetings with students.
Important: You must be available to start by the beginning of the school term.
We want you to believe, as we do, that our students deserve the best school!
Qualifications
A requirement is that you have a post-secondary education as a social pedagogue or equivalent. Other education combined with experience that the employer deems relevant for the assignment may be considered. Previous experience of similar assignments and/or experience of working with children or schools is meritorious. We would like you to have experience working with grades 4–6.
As a person, you are proactive and solution-focused. We see that you have the ability to create an inclusive and respectful environment where all students feel seen and valuable. In the role, it is important to be able to set clear boundaries through a low-affective approach.
Good collaboration and communication skills are a prerequisite for being able to collaborate with guardians and colleagues.
You understand that learning takes place throughout the entire school day and value collaboration with colleagues where you share joint responsibility for the students.
Personal suitability for the position is of great importance.
