School Nurse at Child and Student Health Services in Ängelholm

Child and Student Health Services (Eleverhälsan) is a central part of Ängelholm's municipal schools. Our role is to promote the learning, development, and health of children and students in collaboration with other staff within preschools, primary schools, and upper secondary schools. Our starting point is the preschool's and school's responsibility to create a good learning environment for all children and students.

The Medical Interventions for Student Health (EMI) is a team within Child and Student Health Services, consisting of 15 school nurses and one school doctor. Overall, Child and Student Health Services also includes school counselors, school psychologists, speech therapists, and special educators. We work with a health-promoting and preventive focus, emphasizing health, learning, and goal achievement.

Job Responsibilities

In the role of a school nurse in adapted primary and upper secondary schools, you will be part of several student health teams. The position also includes the role of a school nurse in a small primary school with 90 students.

Your responsibilities include:

• Working towards a good physical, mental, and social working environment for students in close collaboration with the school.
• Conducting health education individually and in groups.
• Offering health conversations and health examinations.
• Identifying and supporting students' needs for special support.
• Independently assessing and prescribing vaccinations in the national vaccination program and supplementary vaccinations.
• Maintaining regular open clinic hours with counseling and medical assessments.
• Actively participating in quality development.

You will join a competent work group consisting of school nurses and a school doctor. The group holds regular APT (Work Environment and Occupational Health) meetings, collegial meetings, and group supervision.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with specialist education as a pediatric nurse, district nurse, or school nurse.
• Experience working with children and young people with special needs is preferred.
• Proficiency in electronic documentation (Prorenata) and digital student health surveys.
• Valid driver's license and access to a personal car.
