Job Responsibilities
Do you want to make a difference as a support assistant for individuals participating in day activities? We are now expanding our team at Lindhultsgatan – a day activity center focusing on sensory experiences, communication, and care in a pleasant environment.
The facility is located in Vidkärr, at Lindhultsgatan 25, in a quiet area surrounded by beautiful green spaces.
We work with the premise that every individual should be involved and have the opportunity to influence their day. The center also serves individuals who are deaf and/or blind, which means we place great emphasis on communication and accessible interactions.
We offer a stimulating and developmental role where you become part of a competent and dedicated team of 16 employees. The work primarily consists of direct support close to care for participants, but you will also:
- maintain contact with relatives and other important people in the participant's network
- work actively with implementation plans
- perform continuous social documentation in Treserva
You will be part of a team consisting of support assistants and support pedagogues. If you have not previously worked with Gothenburg City's documentation system (Treserva), you will naturally receive an introduction and training.
Working hours are during the day, Monday to Friday.
Qualifications
We are looking for trained staff who have graduated as support assistants, from the Child and Youth program with a focus on social or pedagogical work, or the Care and Nursing program with a specialization in disability, comprising at least 200 YH points, 120 university credits, or a combination equivalent to at least four semesters of full-time studies. Alternatively, 60 university credits and at least two years of experience working with support and services for people with disabilities, or other education deemed equivalent by the employer.
To be able to maintain documentation, you must master the Swedish language in speech and writing, which requires passing grades in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a Second Language 1. If you do not meet the qualification requirements in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a Second Language 1, you may be offered a language test through the test provider Educateit.
For this position, it is also a requirement that you have knowledge of sign language or signs as support. In addition, we consider it meritorious if you have previous experience with other forms of AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication).
It is also meritorious if you have previously worked with the target groups of deafblindness and multiple disabilities, as well as sensory experiences.
You uphold the values present in the workplace and translate them into your daily work through a professional and respectful approach. You are responsible and take ownership of both your own and the team's tasks, with the best interests of the facility and users in focus. You work meticulously, complete what you start, and contribute to maintaining high quality work.
You have a positive attitude towards people and meet others with respect, warmth, and sensitivity. You base your interactions on the equal value of all people and create a safe and positive atmosphere in meetings with users, colleagues, and others you collaborate with.
Furthermore, you are communicative and adapt your communication to the individual, situation, and need. You are sensitive to others' perspectives and have an easy time creating understanding and involvement.
You are flexible and can adapt when conditions change, while maintaining a professional approach. You are also team-oriented and actively contribute to a good work climate by working together with others towards common goals.
Other Information
Selection and interviews will begin during the application period.
In this recruitment process, you will answer a number of questions describing your knowledge in the area, instead of sending a personal cover letter.
