We are now looking for summer and temporary staff for residential homes and short-term care for children and young people

Working at our children's homes and short-term care facilities means stepping into an environment where every child is unique and your approach makes a real difference. We are looking for you who want to contribute to safe, meaningful, and developmental days for children and young people with various support needs, whether you are studying, have recently completed your education, or want to try a new field.

A daily life where every child is met based on their conditions

Here, you will meet children and young people with varying needs. This can involve support in communication, learning, or social interaction, as well as more extensive care such as tube feeding, respiratory assistance, or support for multiple disabilities. In some operations, you also work with children who may have challenging behaviors. Regardless of the target group, we always start from the individual's way of expressing themselves, communicating, and being in the world.

Your role as a substitute

You provide support in everything from personal care to participating in and carrying out activities, giving pedagogical support, and being a helping hand in the daily lives of children and young people. You help children succeed in their small and large steps, and document development and important events. We work with methods such as low-affective handling (LAB) and alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) to create safety, participation, and predictability.

Flexible working hours

As a substitute, you can work days, evenings, weekends, awake nights, or sleeping on-call. We are looking for you who want to work a summer temporary position on a fixed schedule, and before that, we would like you to start as a temporary worker before the summer where varying working hours may occur. This is so that both you and the children have time to get to know each other.

Qualifications

To work as a substitute within functional support, you must be at least 18 years old, in accordance with the regulations on the working environment for minors Section 14 and Appendix 2 1B (AFS 2023:2).

If you do not meet the passing grade in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a Second Language 1, you may be offered a language test via EducateIt.

It is meritorious if you have

  • completed or ongoing education in the field, for example as a support assistant, assistant nurse, or alternatively an ongoing or completed academic education in health and medical care, behavioral science, or pedagogical education.
  • experience/knowledge of low-affective handling (LAB), alternative and augmentative communication (AAC), challenging behaviors, and self-harm behaviors.
  • previously worked with medical technical aids such as tracheostomy, tube feeding, PEG, or breathing mask, and have experience of extensive care.
  • have previous experience of working within the functional support area or within care and social services, which is meritorious but not a requirement.

As a substitute within functional support, you put the individual in focus, and we are looking for you who take responsibility, both for your own tasks and the group's tasks. As a substitute within functional support, you put the individual in focus and ensure that the work is done correctly.

At the same time, you are positive, helpful, and respectful even when it is stressful. You collaborate well with others, listen, and contribute to a good atmosphere. In pressurized situations, you maintain your calm, make wise assessments, and ensure that the assignment is successful in the best possible way.

Do you feel that the above description fits you? Then you are warmly welcome to apply!
