JOB DESCRIPTION

The Development Financing Unit at Sandviken Municipality is seeking an employee for the initiative First Step to Work for the period of August 2026 to February 2027.

First Step to Work is a collaborative initiative within the Department of Working Life, focusing on individuals who are far from the labor market and need coordinated support to approach work, studies, or standard labor market measures.

Responsibilities

The work involves supporting participants with complex and often combined needs. It is about creating structure, building motivation, and working long-term with the individual towards increased independence and proximity to working life. The initiative combines individual support with group activities and work-life-oriented moments.

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Individual conversations and motivational work
  • Coordination with other actors regarding the participant
  • Support in contacts with authorities and healthcare
  • Planning and implementation of group activities
  • Internship and work-preparatory measures
  • Documentation and follow-up
  • Work on participants' progression towards work or studies

The operation works closely with participants and requires the ability to build trust, create structure, and simultaneously maintain direction in the work.

About the Employment

  • Fixed-term employment: August 2026 - February 2027
  • Full-time
  • Location in Sandviken

Selection and interviews take place continuously, and the position may be filled before the application deadline.

About First Step to Work

The initiative aims to bridge the gap between social support measures and labor market-oriented activities for individuals who are not yet ready for standard labor market measures. The work is based on individual adaptation, collaboration, and long-term progression. The operation works, among other things, with:

  • Work-life-oriented activities
  • Health-promoting measures
  • Structure and daily life skills
  • Step-by-step progression towards internship, work training, or employment

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who:

  • Have experience working with people in vulnerable or complex life situations
  • Have experience working with the target group
  • Are confident in meeting people with mental health issues, long-term exclusion, or low self-confidence
  • Have good collaboration skills and can work together with several different actors
  • Are structured and can combine relationship-building work with documentation and follow-up
  • Can work both independently and in a team
  • Have a solution-focused and professional approach

It is important that you can quickly get into the assignment and work independently with the target group, as the employment is fixed-term and the operation is already established.

Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.

It is an advantage if you have experience with:

  • Labor market measures
  • Collaborative work between different authorities and operations

Type of employment: Fixed-term employment.
Duration: 6 months or longer.
