Are you looking for a workplace where the security of a small school meets the opportunities of the city? Here, you will have the opportunity to design a pedagogical activity where the green areas of the Stångeån river and the pulse of the city become a natural extension of the school. We are looking for an engaged after-school teacher who wants to help shape a secure and meaningful daily life for our youngest students at Tannefors School.

Your Responsibilities

As a substitute after-school teacher, your starting point is to work with planning, teaching, evaluation, and values-based work based on the curriculum. The work is carried out both independently and in collaboration with colleagues. You will primarily work with preschool class and grades 1 and 2.

As an after-school teacher, you view the student's entire school day as important, and you therefore collaborate with both guardians and colleagues regarding the student. As part of this collaboration, the activities of both the after-school center and the school work together to achieve higher goal fulfillment and create the best conditions for each student. You base your work on the group of students you meet and are expected to create varied and challenging teaching. Using digital tools is a natural part of your teaching.

You promote collegial learning through discussion and reflection at both planned and spontaneous occasions. To benefit the students' learning, as well as your own and the activity's development, you take advantage of the experiences and knowledge of different professions.

The position is a substitute role due to an employee's parental leave, from 2026-08-03 to 2027-08-02.

Your Workplace

Tannefors School is the small school in the middle of the city, beautifully located near Snuggan Park and the green areas of the Stångeån river. With approximately 165 students and one class in each grade (F–6), we have an atmosphere where closeness and relationships are central. Here, you become part of a staff of 25 engaged colleagues. We have special education teachers, school nurses, psychologists, and counselors at the school. We are proud of our secure environment where, through cross-grade activities, we ensure that every child is seen. Our after-school center is open for grades F-6 and is divided into F-2 and 3-6.

Tannefors School should be a school where children feel secure, included, and eager to learn, a place where students take responsibility and develop good knowledge. We get there together through a varied approach both in school and at the after-school center. We want to teach children, in collaboration with home and school, to take responsibility for themselves, their peers, and their surroundings during leisure time. This means we work to support social interaction with other children in free play and planned activities. We offer and challenge children with varied activities including sports, creative arts, music, and excursions. Outdoor time and movement are important to us. The outdoor environment offers children different ways to play, develop motor skills, and practice social interaction. We are outdoors every day and also have regular excursions. The gymnasium is also available to us every day of the week.

With high competence and great engagement, we develop our working methods so that every student gets their golden ticket to the future. As a new employee, you will get a mentor who supports you into the role, but at our school, the doors are always open, and you can turn to anyone for support and inspiration.

Who You Are

Primarily, we are looking for you who have a teacher certification with eligibility in after-school activities. In the second hand, we are looking for you with a degree certificate or completed education as an after-school teacher. Alternatively, you are at the end of your education as an after-school teacher.

It is a requirement that you have experience as a teacher in a curriculum-based after-school center, through practice or employment. It is meritorious if you have worked as an after-school teacher for at least one school year. If you have worked in preschool class, this is also meritorious.

In your role as an after-school teacher, you have good knowledge of the school's mission and are well acquainted with the curriculum (Lgr22) and other regulatory documents. You have good communicative skills in speech and writing in the Swedish language. This is because, according to the curriculum (Lgr22), you are to organize and carry out the work so that the student receives support in their language and communication development. You are responsible for ensuring that every student can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way.

As an after-school teacher, you are a good role model. You have the ability to adapt your teaching to the students and let them participate in the design of the teaching. In a quality-conscious manner, you create good conditions for the student's development and learning and document this. You collaborate well with colleagues, guardians, and other contacts in society that occur in your professional role.
