My name is Carl and I am almost 2 years old, and I have a rare diagnosis. We live in an apartment in central Gothenburg where we spend most of our time, but we also have a house in Lidköping that we visit every other weekend and during holidays. As my assistant, you will support and follow my development in several areas. I need help from both you with extensive experience in care and support, and I also offer opportunities to those with a junior profile who still have a big heart and curiosity. We develop together with both experienced and new assistants on our shared journey. What a day with me might look like: Since I am a small child, I need close care and support for my needs. Due to congenital breathing difficulties, I have a tracheostomy tube (trach) implanted, which requires constant supervision and care. I communicate using signs and enjoy playing, singing children's songs, cuddling, and learning new things. With me, there are always two assistants working at the same time because I need someone watching me constantly to interpret my signals regarding what help I need. Much of my routine is structured, but you will learn this during your introduction and as you get to know my needs. You will accompany me on my journey in the early stages of life, which will also include future hospital visits and surgeries. Who are you? With me, you need to be a secure person who respects, is curious, and attentive to my needs. You are responsible and find it easy to absorb routines both verbally and in writing. Communication needs to be clear and smooth, as acute situations may arise that need to be resolved in an efficient and secure manner. We would appreciate it if you had experience or were studying for a healthcare or rescue service profession, but above all, that you have a genuine interest in me as a small child and want to learn new things. Being able to use signs as support is a big plus, but not a requirement. Experience with tracheostomy care or working in healthcare is advantageous. We want to build an assistant team where both you with long work experience and you who are just starting your career have a place to contribute and develop. The job with me starts immediately, so flexibility is appreciated. About the position: Working hours are 22:00–08:00. Extra hours as needed. You book the shifts you wish to work, and you have the opportunity to be called in for work on those days. The position is available immediately. However, employment will take place beforehand as you will be scheduled for shadowing and trach training.
