The Adult and Disability Operations Area is one of six areas within the Social Services Department of the Northern Inner City District Administration. The operations area consists of 52 employees and is divided into four units: the Adult Unit, the Social Psychiatry Unit, and two units for disabilities.

To the Adult Unit, we are now looking for a temporary Social Secretary within harmful substance use and addiction, as one of our skilled social secretaries is on parental leave.

We are located in fresh office spaces in an open-plan office in Garnisonen, close to Karlaplan and the recreational area of Djurgården. It is a competent work group where everyone helps each other. The daily work is led by a team leader and an active unit manager.

Your role

As a Social Secretary within the Harmful Substance Use and Addiction group, you will be one of seven social secretaries who investigate, assess, and make decisions according to the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Law on Care of Abusers (LVM). The cases coming to the Adult Unit are both applications and reports of concern. You work with motivational work and collaborate with others both internally and externally, such as the region, addiction care, and the prison and probation service.

Your competence and experience

We are looking for you who have:

• A degree in Social Work or another university degree that the employer considers equivalent
• Experience in public authority work
• Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing

It is meritorious if you have:

• Experience in public authority work regarding addiction
• Training in ASI (Addiction Severity Index)
• Experience with the city's umbrella system
• Training in Motivational Interviewing (MI)

We would like you to be professional and structured in your approach. It is important that you are stable and have good collaboration skills. The work involves meeting people who are often in crisis situations, where you need to be calm and controlled in pressurized situations. The work involves collaboration with other professionals as well as relatives, which means you need to have an open, accommodating, and problem-solving attitude.
